i love the first scary movie, but I hate what it's created.

I'm not sure if it's just nostalgia, but I remember parody movies of my time to be a good deal more witty. Or at least not as frequently released. But the real shame is that they rake in the loot.

But then you expect this to be bad. Same with Ghost Ship, which would otherwise take the crown from Shooter. There's nothing in the plot, and certainly nothing in the line-up of actors, that suggests that Shooter should be a bad movie. But it was fucking horrible.

Dude, they ripped off Hancock and it's not even out yet. :lol Considering the sole source of humor in these movies comes from the recognizing of scenes from other movies, it's probably smarter to just parody the trailers since not everyone has seen the movie, but everyone's seen the trailer. That's just smart business!

Basically just throw together the latest pop culture references, make it somewhat coherent, get the hottest B-list or C-list talent you can get that is willing to work for cheap (when was the last thing Carmen Electra was in that people cared about? With her fully clothed of course), and shove it out the door.

I don't think these things take any longer than a week or two to write. They probably spend more time fiddling with the lighting than they do with writing. These movies pull in about $80-90 million overall and probably more DVD sales than I'd want to know :-\ Gives some extra capital for studios so that way they can spend $250 million on the latest comic book movie.
