Never got into the show.  The only episode I saw all the way through is where some demon has to say alive by fucking young women.  Then there is a scene where he is deformed and trying to pick girls up frantically in a club.  It has been some years since I saw that episode so maybe I messed that plot up.

That's one of the first episodes IIRC.  Show got a lot better in the second year (though I liked it at the beginning too)

1st season is camp like 1st season buffy, its a fun series but it doesnt get its central themes until season 2

My girlfriend would pee in delight at this thread. I didn't find out what a closet nerd she was until after about a year in. That said, Angel is definitely one of the more tolerable shows she watches.

Season 1 is rough going.  It's like ghetto PROTO EMO BUFFY with lots of shots of Angel walking around the streets of LA looking sad and mopey, usually while like VAST is playing in the background.

that was a good show - but im not sure i could be into it enough to buy it.

I have seen all of Buffy, and enjoyed it, but I have never watched an episode of Angel.
