Title: Best way to tell a roommate you don't want to room with him?

At college? I need to make up some excuse why I don't want to room with this random assignment and instead with my friend. Was thinking of using one of the following things:

A. I'm black
B. I'm a homosexual

Any of you guys got any suggestions?

Don't be shallow, man. It could be a blessing in disguise. Rooming with a friend could lead to too much distraction from your studies.

Besides the fact that the person i was supposed to be a roommate with also requested to be a roomate with me and this dumb school didn't give us each other?  ???

This is my second year. It's not new to me. Last year I was roomed with the biggest dumbfuck ever and we had to get him kicked out for stealing shit. I don't want this happening again.
