Nay on the stuttering bug as a whole. Had some serious rubberbanding in Legendary Greece last night. :/
Definitely does help with the terrible hard disk grinding death in parts of Act IV.

I dont have stuttering right now, what causes that bug?
Act V gets REALLY bad as soon as you enter the tower, but is then fine after reboot, does it fix that? Stupid door open effect!

yes, this is fixed in the fan patch. What I normally do for that part is run in, bear the lag for the first floor, get the first rebirth fountain, and save/quit and immediataly start the game again without even dropping to windows, works fine there.
Also fixes the chugalug near the crystals at the end of act iv.

the rubberbanding really does seem random, with a few guaranteed spots. I'm in part 4 of Act I (gorgon bosses) and it was going nuts, even after the patch.

Hunter/Storm - Sage. Using storm for Wisp, Nebula and the big lightning strike, and using Hunter for enhanced arrow damage, passthrough, spread, and herbal remedy.

I'm liking the Rogue class so far. You get a ton of stackable, always-on skills, and I am tearing my way through ancient Greece.

I haven't played in a while (sort of dropped out in the 3rd act, I think) but the Hunters Net skill + Bleed Damage = pwned
I think I'll double team my gaming thirst by playing this and Diablo II

Not really in the same league as D2, but very robust and complete when compared to a genre baseline.

how long is the game? I've been at it for 16 hours...still on act 1. I think that includes some AFK time.
also, the lack of 1280x720 sucks, but when I use one of the other widescreen resolutions, it's wayyyy to small for me to read (I'm about 6 feet away from a 32" LCD.....sitting on a big comfy couch.)

The major thing about this game is playing a Diablo'esq game at a resolution that actually looks perfect on your monitor.
I remember thinking the game looks fantastic when I first started it up. In my opinion though, I prefer the loot from Diablo 2. It feels more varied and the names and sets feel more rewarding when you get them.

it looks pretty terrible on your character, like pretty much everything else in Diablo 2 nowadays
d2 wasn't a looker when it was released back in 2000. It certainly hasn't aged well visually as a 2D game in the era of native resolution LCD displays.

It's an Asus G1. 2ghz Core 2 Duo, 2gb ram, GeForce Go 7700 card w/ 512mb ram. I was playing Stalker at 1680x1050 at pretty high specs.

Has anyone completed Legendary yet (without cheating?). My first character, a Ranger, stalled out in early Act 3 (up in the mountains). Now my second character, a Harbinger, has stalled out in the forest area (those damn dragons that shoot lightening).
The loot drops I get in Legendary suck. Almost every majestic chest drops yellows. So, I'm having a hard time making significant gains via equipment.
I have a DPS around 2800 and a defense of 2100. All my resists are around 30% on up.

I had to do Epic turtle passage runs to gear up, and then on Legendary I element-hosed the Act 2 Telkiene (quick run from the last portal for Act 2) for more drops from him. Oh, and farming Talos, who drops incredible loot.
At first my problem was getting crit too much-not enough DA and added more armor. Once I resolved that, I had to shore up not just primary resists, but stuff like bleeds and especially vitalty resists for Act4. Getting a good Legendary artifact is also a HUGE boost.
If you hit certain mobs that own you over and over, it's time to keep an eye out for decent yellows/greens that have the damage type you want to prevent, and then add a relic that enhances it further. Swap it in, swap it out.

Act3 Telkine is rough stuff-he's got a pattern to him, though, when he starts lifting the block up you can smack him a few times. Always hated that fight on Legendary with a melee class, was much easier with fire-and-forget caster damage due to the massive kiting around that is required.

I might start up the game again. Last time I got to that city with the spider boss as a dreammaster/warrior or whatever and it was okay, but got boring. What class should I go through with next time?

Wolves are worthless until the second half of Epic. Pump all of your skill points into Heart of Oak in nature. A terrific passive skill.

I believe you can, but it's worthless since there are no official servers and hacking is rampant.

I've got my Rogue up to level 30, and I'm slicing guys up like butter. I've completely sacrificed defense in order to boost my DPS as high as possible. :rock

Choose the Warfare Class, put points into Dual Wield (when its available) and hold on off putting skill into Onslaught until you know what secondary class you want. Reason being, I ended up going with Dreamweaver as my secondary class and Psionic Touch took the place of Onslaught.
Also, when you reach the Queen Spider (You'll know when), if you want, you can grind that run by activating the rebirth shrine at the base, kill her, get the loot, save, exit out of the game and repeat. You get some KICKASS loot from the Majestic Chest up there. I got 1 of my better weapons and two Blue pieces of Armor from it (both 70+ armor when I was rocking 35 Armor before).

I was browsing a TQ forum and saw people talking about fighting the Hydra. I never knew it existed (in Legendary) and must have walked past it's swamp half a dozen times.
So, I went and fought that fucker and landed some sweet gear on my first two go rounds.

God, I just want to play this game 24 hours a day. also, it's fucking gorgeous.

but I'm getting sick of the tiny freezes and rubber banding. is there any special optimization that can be done? On paper, my PC should eat this game alive, especially at 1024x768 (or whatever the highest 4:3 res is.) I have an 8800gts512, Core2Duo 2.66ghz (E6750), and 2gb of ram. I have the unofficial patch installed.

i run into the same exact problem (the stuttering) and my machine should eat this one alive too. I installed the fan patch but still have issues. it's kind of painful when it kicks in in the middle of a fight
i hit lvl 18 and i'm fairly well geared out.

I beat Olympus just now on Normal. I smoked the last boss with my Lv. 31 Rogue. My DPS is about 875, about half of it poison damage. I only had to hit him maybe 8 times and just let the poison do the rest.

But yeah, with the Dream class, I can run into camps and hew all the monsters with my Dual Wielding Psionic Touch. But its getting harder to do this (I'm in the 3rd act right now)

My next character I want to do Rogue/?? I have a third character that is Spirit/Storm .. but he's kind of boring.
A Rogue/Hunter w/ a spear could be an uber-pierce/bleeding build. Not many great spears though.

you can hit "L" at any time to open a portal back to town to sell stuff off, then you can teleport right back to the portal

I ended up having to respec because I had too many passive abilities maxed and nothing like Phantom Strike. Now I have 9/8 onslaught + phantom strike & trance of empathy. it's awesome

He's pretty easy if you build up your poison damage.
Just hit him, then run away while the poison does it's work. Repeat.

I was playing last night and had 2 green drops and 1 blue that were ok, then went to my bag and couldn't find it. I got so angry but kept playing. Then I ported back to Memphis and saw the 2nd flashing back icon and found my items :lol

loul im reading on the TQ forums about Spellbinders Cuffs and how many runs it takes to get them. Turns out I got a pair on my 1st run through in Normal.

Dang it, I was only going to play this game once through. When I finished Normal though, I started thinking "Man, I wonder what kind of sweet loot I could get on Epic. I'll just play it a little bit and see if I get anything good." Once I got that first purple though, I couldn't stop. Now I'm starting Act 3. I've got 50 hours on my main character exactly (2:02:00) and I've got at least another dozen hours on a second character. The l00t is sucking me in. :'(

Yeah it's getting like that for me too. Now I've got my phantom strike working well with my 2 damage-> health weapons I'm plowing through massive mobs. Once I put down a battle standard the bosses aren't giving me any issues either.
I'm thinking of adding war wind so I don't have to worry about the Phantom Strike cooldown and I can continually use AOE to take out groups.

Yea, the game really starts to hum once you get to the end of normal and go through Epic.

Does this fan patch break save files?
I have about 30 hours built into my warfare/storm character and don't want to have to start over.
Also, what are some tips for building this character up. I built up my bases stats first, and have started to branch out.
Man I wish I had known about boss spamming near a rebirth fountatain. I would have done that!

Ok I have reached the titan in act 4 and it is beating the shit out of me. How do I defeat this thing? The life leech taking my health and giving it back to the titan is destroying me.
I have warfare and storm. What should I assign my bonuses too? I have my wisp at 16 I tried to cheese it this way but it doesn't work. Whatever life gets taken off it gets back from me.

poison, poison, poison. use a scroll of unbroken will or whatever or two.

Well that is the thing. Every time I try to get close and use poison it steals my life and heals itself.
I honestly don't know where to get these scrolls you are talking about.

why don't you use a bow with poison, w button for switching weapons is yer friend, just kite him near the stairway
the scrolls are sold by magic item vendors with the potions and jewelry

Yeah I'm distinguished mentally-challenged I can't believe I went the whole game without seeing them.
Anyway now that Titan Quest is done it is on to Immortal Throne. Is it a good idea to roll over the existing TQ character or start a new one?
I made sure to install the fan patch for IT before starting the game. IT title screen music is pretty badass too.

Never found that dude, he seems nasty.
I finished act IV, no poision but I would just run in and phantom strike him, attach till the boulders started coming and run away. Then at the end I used some lightning scroll which took off 1/4 of his health really quickly. Got some shitty drops though :(
No onto the long Act V :( cant wait for the secret passage

The Dragon Liche is only in Epic/Legendary difficulty. He's near the cave in China where the general left his armor and weapons. There's kind of a back exit to the cave, and you when you go out there you find the Dragon Liche.

Is Epic or Legendary the one with the -100% resists? I'm not looking forward to that.

Legendary is -100% to resistances. Epic is only -40%.
And I finally beat the Dragon Liche. All I got from him was a bunch of yellow crap and 30k XP, but it was worth it to keep my pride intact. :punch

I finally beat him too once I figured out that it's better to just load up resistances than it is to have a high DPS. It takes a little longer to kill stuff, but I don't die all the time at least.
