Title: doritos quest: the flavor of gross
Post by: Van Cruncheon on July 04, 2008, 03:48:24 PM
so doritos created a new flavor that haven't named, and have been marketing as "quest" -- you, the consumer, get to tell THEM what the flavor is! how could i resist? since it is the fourth here, and since the very american spirit of the fourth is poisoning your body with liquor and snack food, i bought a bag. in a taste test, my wife and maf vomited blood, whereas my mother-in-law is still eating them. if tvc shows up, we will allow him to be the ultimate arbiter of what the flavor is, but as it stands, the prevailing choice is GROSS. they are like lime + sweet + bbq + msg extreme. it is like they took all the sodium crystals from previous failed flavors and threw them in a bag, and said WTF AMERICA.

Their last mystery flavor was cheeseburgers, right?  Anyone who willingly ingests this shit deserves the pain that it brings.

i can't decide if the flavor is "cancer of the mouth" or "denis dyack". i'm leaning towards mouth cancer but the fact that the flavor is simultaneously completely confused yet incredibly intense makes me think DYACK

Look into Fiery Habanero Doritos.  I'm totally addicted to them... go through about one bag a week.

I'm whiling away the hours at the local anarchist cafe.  I had a bowl of vegan noodles with ginger-baked tofu for lunch, and I'll be sticking around for "Women's Anti-Patriot Folk Music Night" :usacry

I was briefly privy to high-level insider information on Frito-Lay's marketing strategies  :shh

I have nothing to add, except that a lot of the artificial flavoring industry is centered in the Flavor Corridor on the New Jersey turnpike.

That has to explain something.

doritos are basically inedible; if you're going to eat chips, there are some actual decent choices you could make

beer chips, for example

The taste seems extremely familiar, but nothing comes to mind

They have the look of Cooler Ranch, but one bite and all that goes out the window

Definitely not one of my favorite flavors... I'll stick to Cooler Ranch and Spicy Sweet Chili

I was tempted to try these out, too.  I believe I feared that the buffalo ones might be too spicy for my liking.  Those Quest Doritos are indeed gross.
