He barely squeaked it out, 25-24, on the promise of his ability to potentially wrangle a vote or two to occasionally pass GOP friendly legislation.  Yeah, because Dems are going to see this guy as someone who can build bridges.

He doesn't need to build bridges: he needs to keep his party in line. That's his job, and I think fucking Trent Lott can do that. :lol
