I said fuck it, you only live once.

Thats a ton of fans

:hyper :heartbeat
Very true, you only live once. And in that one life, you might as well game on the PC, the alpha and omega of gaming platforms.
Very pretty and powerful computer, enjoy it.

The card runs really hot, so it was important to have good airflow in the case. There's a 25cm Fan on the side panel pointing to the board, and then the other cards serve to take that air out.
I really decided to go all out. Most impressive thing is that the PC is super quiet, those fans did cost 18e a pop though.

The motherboard comes with the game Stalker, so i'm pretty giddy about it since i always wanted to play it.

GodDAMN son your cabling skills are sick.
One of the cleanest jobs I've ever seen. I'm super impressed.

my next power supply will be like the ones where you can choose which cords you need and only use those

It's a pre-built, look at the video

ahaha, no man. It's this store that has these really balla dudes with that stuff, their cabling is just off the charts. They even put those little plastics all over the place to tie the cables and stuff.
Just awesome, one of the reasons i bought it there. You pick the parts and then they do that beautiful job with it. It's not even a normal store, its more of an office, and the dudes working there just had mad skillz.
-
Either way it's super impressive.
Makes me want to clean up my wiring.
I actually got the bug to see if I could quiet down a particularly loud fan over the weekend. Ended up stripping the screw holding the fan in place, and then ended up practically destroying the chassis that the fan attaches to, which is then supposed to slide into the case. So now I have to replace the fan (no big deal) and the chassis (where in the fuck I'm going to do so, I have no idea. Somehow I don't think Antec replacement parts are easy to order.)

what the hell were you doing? couldn't you have just used a noise reduction pad?

Word. I could have built 2 similarly spec'd machines here for that price.
Enjoy it, I'm jealous. :-[

Nice! I like how everything is neat and tidy like Draft said.
If I had known how damn big and hot the 280GTXes were going to be, I'd would have gotten your case instead. The Antec 182 looks nice and is quiet but is not quite made for a rig with 2 big ass videocards.
-
It's funny how that thing will be obsolete within 10 years.

Took the fan out to examine it.
Noticed it was only screwed in at two of the four notches.
Screwed it back into to all four notches. One of them gave me a bit of trouble, but was kind of drunk, so I just muscled through it. This is where the trouble started.
Noticed I had put the fan in upside down. Normally, upside down does not mean much to a case fan, except in this particular case, where the cord was absolutely not going to make the trip unless the fan was rightside up.
Went to unscrew the fan, noticed that the screw I had forced was already pretty stripped, and very quickly became hopelessly stripped upon attempted removal.
Spent several sweaty, drunken minutes trying to unscrew the thing from the back using some pliers. Unsuccessful.
Becoming increasingly frustrated and drunk by the minute, I ended up bending the the chassis (which is pretty thin aluminum) in several places. Probably fixable, but I'm too disgusted with it to try. And of course, the screw is still stripped and still firmly in place.
Draft. PC Guru.

do something else when you are drunk...

Antec actually has a good set of spare parts for order:

You deed it, mang! Time to get Titan Quest!
-
How noisy is that case with all the fans turned on?
-
Fine rig my man. How do you like the 4870 so far?
Still installing shit....

I'll tell you when i play a game and see how the noise goes up. It has "accelerated" a couple of times, it gets a bit loud for 3 secs and then stabilizes, and back to really quiet.
-
On a scale of 1 to 360.
a mondain tested sound level meter-raning from 0db to "omg 360" would be a great evilbore gift item for the holidays.
-
STALKER isn't hard at all! Well, unless you are not used to superior FPS games that require you to expand your thought pattern beyond "See > Shoot".
-
Ok so i played the Witcher, not really feeling it, this thing defaulted to maximum settings, even 16xAf and max AA and it was running really freaking fast i mean, i'm used to 30fps, and this was running way higher than that.
Didn't really dig the game though :( I finished the 1st part, and just didn't like the whole thing, but i didn't hate it so i'll keep the game and maybe i'll give it another chance at another time.
Cool thing so far, while i was playing The Witcher, the PC was surprisingly as quiet as i could imagine, the HD4870 that was said to get loud when playing games, not really, it was really quiet.
I'll instal Stalker now.

I liked the Witcher. It's like a deeper version of the console Baldur's Gate games. Maybe you should wait for the upcoming patch that's supposed to greatly improve the game's visuals and gameplay.
That's nice that your 4870 is so quiet. The noise is the only thing that bothers me about the 280GTX.
How is the case noise though? I'm curious because it has so many fans.

Super quiet i'm serious. It has many fans but each fan is very silent, they were rated 17db fans, cost me 18e each. The fan on the cooler is a Noctua Vortex fan which is really silent too. The system is running very cool, very quiet, and it's performing beyond my expectations as i didn''t expect the hd4870 to handle Crysis on very high, at 1280x1024, dx 10, so well and so quiet.
It's awesome.

I tried to get The Witcher on torrent but there's this whole protection that I'm reading about that sounds bothersome. I may just cave and buy it. I feel defeated.

like $20 on ebay/half.com new with $4 shipping or so. Not terribly pricey.

I'd wait for the enhanced edition (http://uk.pc.ign.com/articles/854/854416p1.html).

I'm gonna wait for the patch then, it's funny, this and Rise of Legends, i bought these games months ago and i can't get into them, at least yet.
World in Conflict though, now that's some balla ass shit.

I'm waiting for the patch to start playing The Witcher, but right now I am replaying STALKER. I still don't think it is very hard once you realize that it is different from the CoD or other heavily scripted games out there.
