Title: Update: Darren Aronofsky IS helming new Robocop

I'm suddenly interested in them remaking this film again. Of course, in a few days it will come out that the story was false, and my interest will plummet back to zero. It sure would be different, though.

He's never shown a sense of humor, and I think his sort of preachy tone won't mesh well with the very overt world of the first Robocop movie. I really don't expect this remake to be a big, let's try something new movie. At the moment I don't particularly buy that Aronofsky is attached.

You're right on all points, but for me those are sorta why I find it interesting. I'd be really curious to see this one make it to theatres.
