Title: World in Conflict, BEST RTS in recent memory?

I've been playing this game and i love it, it's simple, fast, looks amazing, sounds amazing, and has some pretty sick overall presentation (cut scenes, voice work).

I'm just floored by this game. I'm thinking of getting company of heroes too, i heard it was in the same mold as this one is it true?

Oh and if you haven't played this game you should. Gets the award for most balla rts i've played.

Just finished, awesome game with a really movie like feel to it. The use of licensed music was particularly movie like, awesome.

I hope this game did well, this team deserves success.

based on multiplayer demo (i don't play single player in RTS), i found it was boring.  i play RTS for the infrastructure buildup/troop strategy aspects.  got bored moving a few units around.  just felt shallow--like an incomplete RTS.  i'd usually win and be in the top bracket, so it's not like i didn't know what i was doing. 

as far as recent games go, the warhammer40k games are where the fun's at.

I loved the game a lot in both single-player and multiplayer. In multiplayer, it was actually an RTS I could play online and not have to give 110 percent attention to because of the way it is set up, which is nice from time to time.

That being said COH is the gold standard for the modern real time strategy genre, and should not be overlooked by anyone who likes PC games. No exceptions!

I was pretty disappointed in World in Conflict after I spent much of last year drooling over screenshots and previews. It's really light in terms of the S part of the RTS acronym. Don't really have to make decisions allocating resources or units, just keep sending unlimited resources to where they need to go until you eventually win that skirmish area. Meh. It never really feels like I'm in control of the game. Could have been so, so much better.

Company of Heroes = God's great big titties. YUM.
