Title: Is there anything worth noting on PSN recently?
Post by: demi on July 13, 2008, 10:12:49 PM
I have a PS3 again... is there anything worth looking at?

Does anyone have a Japa account I can use real quick, so I can take a look at the SIREN and YAKUZA demos?

edit: Apparently there is an American SIREN demo... cool

Wall-E, Hail to the Chimp, Prince Caspian are what I saw... and it is the fact of the matter, they should be on XBL too

Wasn't there a demo for Everyday Shooter? Was hoping to try it... why don't they have any demos for their arcade games?

a lot of them have demos that came out post-release (SSHD, pixeljunk, etc).  everydayshooter's worth if it you like what you've seen in gameplay videos.  only warning i should give is that the shooting isn't 360 degress -- it's 8 way (i actually find it better to use the face buttons instead of the right analog stick).  not really a flaw though.

That doesnt really answer my question... so I take it that there is no demos for either SSHD (considering its one of the hot titles now that there is trophies) or Everyday Shooter? I can't even try that gay PAIN game? ECHOCHROME has a demo...

edit: Ok I found the SSHD demo after traversing this convoluted environment

There should be a demo for SSHD, a game I think you will really like.  It shits all over Geo Wars.

Also try PixelJunk Monsters.

That's about it for PSN... seriously.

Everyday Shooter has trophies now? Do you know what else does?

God damnit, just buy this game.  10 bucks well spent.  Best thing on PSN by a country mile......I played it again today for nearly an hour.  <3 Everyday Shooter.

PSN is pretty much a wasteland though.

If I download Hitler's games, is there any restrictions I need to be aware of? This isn't my PS3, and I'm only gonna have it for like a week or two - I am gonna play MGS4 and Haze real quick

I'll do it if Hitler really doesn't mind. Can anyone on this PS3 play it, then? I'm sure my friend wont mind a couple free games on his PS3.

Warhawk is the only game locked out.

Nothing you need to worry about at all. You can play the games from any login on the system, you can delete HSMP when you're done.

PM me your deets, Hitler, if you want to hook me up... I just need to download these demos before I get around to it. I dunno what I have that you are interested in as repayment, aside from my puckered starfish

Make sure you install that shit before you go on your download binge, if you have too many uninstalled items the Shop doesn't let you download :lol

I'm reading that I have to keep HSMP's account on the PS3 if I want to play the games... can anyone confirm this

Yeah, we need more info from some of you guys that have done this before.  I checked the GAF thread:

Q/A:

Q: Should I worry about misuse for my account?
A: If you taken the steps to delete your credit card/billing information and changed your password temporary, it should be safe. If you're paranoid about someone stealing your account, only share with people that you really, really trust

Q: Can't I just make a sub-account and use that to share the games?
A: Not sure if this is allowed, but someone could try and report the results

Q: I just received the game from the sender and the game won't play, help!
A: In order to play the game on your PS3, the game must be activated AND the user account that was used to download the game must stay on your PS3. For example, say you created user account "User1" on your local Playstation 3 and you downloaded a full version of Lemmings. After you download the game, you MUST keep "User1" on your Playstation 3 in order for the game to run on your PS3. If you somehow delete the user account, you must relogin with the sender's account and redownload the game. If the game is still on your HDD, simply redownload then cancel to re-authorize the game.

Q: Do I have to login with the sender's account to play the game?
A: No, it just needs to be authorized on your PS3. You can play the game using your account thereafter. Just do not delete the user account as mentioned above or else the game will be locked out.

Q: I'm trying to download the game from the Playstation store but it is not appearing in the store. Where is it?
A: Games that are purchased disappear from the store. You have to download the game going through the "Download List" screen on the upper right of the Playstation Store.

Q: How many times can I share a game?
A: The store says you can share up to 5 different Playstation 3's.

Well try downloading something and then I'll change my info.  See if you can still access it afterwards.

You just need to have the account on the system. you don't have to be logged in (nor will you be able to once the password is changed).

Can I play SuperStardust on my account and get me some trophy action?

You can definitely play the games on other accounts on the console.

Just make sure you don't dabble too much on the borrowed account, the saves don't carry over.

Siren's like a less interesting version of Condemned and yeah it's way too dark for it's own good.  PS1 era Silent Hill type dark.

The character models looked better than I was expecting though.  Not great but not too bad either.  A hell of a lot better than Too Human's.

Shame the PS2 versions of Siren were pretty cool. Still below Fatal Frame & Silent Hill on the horror scale though.
