Title: So, I'm going to buy an Xbox 360
Post by: Yeti on July 15, 2008, 01:20:36 PM: With the pseudo price drop of $50 and practically no games coming out for Wii, I figure it is time to take the plunge on a 360. Are there any good deals out there? I think I saw that if you buy it at Target you get a $20 gift card.

Rent Kameo. I bought it super cheap because I liked the demo, but was tired of Rare's awful level design by half way through. It's the only 360 game I regret buying (even though it was cheap).

It might be a good idea to rent Crackdown. I'd say it's worth the money (especially at the current low price), but your mileage may vary. Make sure you download the free DLC for it though; keys to the city is pretty awesome, and there's also a function to reset gangs. Very fun game.

Same deal with Kameo... that game is literally 10 bucks new on ebay so renting it is pointless. Don't listen to the haters. Buy Kameo...it's a nice, refreshing game with amazing visuals to boot. You're gonna want some non-shooter games to play and Kameo is a perfect compliment to your library.

Some more recommendations:

- Gamefly.com has amazing sales on used games
- Do you like multi-player shooters? Battlefield: Bad Company, Halo 3, COD4, etc., are must-buys if you like online games
- Mass Effect... an absolute masterpiece. ($25-30 new)
- Bioshock... same as above ($25-30 new)
- Dead Rising ($25-30 new)
- Lost Planet Colonies edition is $30 retail and it's a love/hate game... I fucking love it. Check out the demo on marketplace
- In fact... first thing you should do is download all the demos. Queue that shit up overnight
- Rent LEGO Indiana Jones... great game
- Lost Odyssey is supposed to be great
- Avoid GTA4 like the plague... most disappointing game of all time

Marvel Ultimate Alliance/Forza 2 two pack a friend gave me a while ago
Lost: Via Domus
The three Burger King games lol

Already I have more games for it than I have for my Wii. Xbox 360 :bow

20 bucks new if he can find it. I had trouble finding my copy a few months back though. Only one gamestop in like a 20 mile radius had one.
