Plastic packaging is getting worse and worse. I bought a iPod shuffle a couple of weeks ago for the gym. I worked up a sweat just trying to get the thing unpackaged. Worry about theft all you want, but as time goes on I think the stores should have to open these things for you.

I bent a car key trying to get the iPod out. It was the closest thing around.

It's OK, I had a spare. The bent key still works, though, with some effort.

i have said it before and i'll say it again

get yourself a good pair of kitchen shears

they are designed to cut through bone, they'll glide right through heat welds in plastic

anyone tried opening the 360 wireless wheel? holy jumping christ. Ocean's freaking Eleven couldn't get that thing out in under 5 minutes.

Eel is correct.

Kitchen Shears = no more worrying about plastic. I had my Dualshock out in about two minutes.

The fact that you might have to buy shit to open shit you have already purchased is sad.

Is there a good reason for packaging that no one can open?

prole:  i cut the shit out of my hand trying to open mouse packaging.  I almost had to get stitches :'(

Theft prevention is the reason, pretty much every other country/region uses sane packaging.

One good thing I have learned in all my years of retail ninja-dom is how to open shit in obnoxious packaging in no time flat.  I generally use a knife. Or a box opener.

Like weak points on a boss, you've got to locate them with your "Analyze" ability and exploit said weakness with Blizarra or Fira, Thundara doesn't work since we're dealing with plastic here.

I just use Bufu or Agi.

I think the DS3 packaging requires at least Bufudyne or Agidyne

getting my slim psp out of its impregnable blister pack was a fucking ordeal. i don't even remember how i did it -- though i do remember going through several ineffective cutting implements. at least with a controller you don't really care if you scratch it a bit
