Currently, most console games do not allow more than 40 or 60 players to compete at once.
Actually, most console games never even approach even those numbers.

The company did, however, exhibit a high level of artistic and technical ambition in playing a trailer from a new game in the works called MAG, for Massive Action Game. MAG is meant to allow up to 256 players to simultaneously occupy one continuous modern-combat battlefield. Currently, most console games do not allow more than 40 or 60 players to compete at once
