Title: It's Monday, what are you doing, buying, playing, touching? (WEEK OF 7/20)
Post by: muckhole on July 21, 2008, 11:12:27 AM: It's my day off, so I slept extra late, (at least as long as my gf's cat would allow) and I'm starting my day with a cup of coffee, a cigarette, and a complete sense of misdirection for the day. The only thing I have planned is a reformat of my laptop which has caught something nasty after I left it on, unattended around a sister who should know better and an employee who is the kiss of death to all things electronic.

The problem was that it happened last night at a gym we both go to. I knew it was his car so I figured I'd just ring him later to tell him so I just drove off. Frankly I was embarrassed since there were a couple of people around who saw it.

Unfortunately I didn't realise in the moment, but the people who saw it would have thought I was the biggest douche around. One of them left a note on my boss' car with my number plate. My boss recognised it as mine and rang me last night to tell me not to be worried about it which was nice of him.

It just sucks that my boss might think I was never going to own up, and the people who saw it think I'm a wanker (and I'm not entirely sure if some of them know me since I didn't really see them).

In retrospect I should have just stopped and gone in to tell my boss at the time. Live and learn I guess.

Maybe just do the ibuprofen - as you would well know it's pretty awesome stuff.

I can second that. Take it easy, and buy an inversion table if you have the means (depending on what you did to your back, mind you, ask your doc).

Is that a 96 Cheeroke? My now wife had something very similar back then. I loved that thing, but it had a V6 and guzzled gas. probably 16-18MPG.

Hehe. What's really sad is that I don't know. Mechanic never said and I never asked :-[. The local garage had it brought in as a trade-in, the person didn't want to bother with the repairs because it had so many miles on it. So he did all the work and is selling it to me cheap. I'm just picking it up for a work vehicle, so it will rarely leave the property, and only then to go to the dump or haul a load of lumber.
