I have a car now. It's a Civic, too, so you will be pleased by the nice mileage.

Rock on. You can't do better for your money. Just watch out for those trucks.

Everything else on the road looks so huge when you are in the civic. There's nothing like looking in the rear view mirror and just seeing like, the bumper of a giant ass truck. Makes you feel like you are in a matchbox or something.
-
Yeah, that's the thing I like about the Civic compared to a lot of other little cars, it has a little zip if you need it. It can be hard to see around other cars (especially SUVs) so having the option for a fairly quick acceleration is good when you're in such a small vehicle. They are safe for their size, but you wouldn't want another vehicle to hit you flush.
The nice thing about this gas situation is that 5 years from now only essential trucks and rich people suvs will be on the road, as opposed to every soccer mom and her cell phone driving one. We'll all be a lot safer then.

It's a 97 Civic, so it's been around the block. Still runs great though, and I'm probably spoiling myself witht hat mileage. Knowing now that I'm probably going to be driving a lot, I am considering buying a new car next summer (also as a credit-building exercise), but I will definitely not get anything that gets under 30mpg.
Actually, I wonder how much it costs to pimp out a civic.
-
Next time don't swallow ok?
-
Civic is one of the most-modded cars in the community, so there would be tons of aftermarket parts I imagine. I have a 96 Civic and I won't be getting another car until I can get a full-electric ride. My car is completely paid off and it's carbon footprint is paid for as well (unlike a new ride.) At 30-40 mpg, I wouldn't save a lot of cash with even a 50 mpg hybrid, certainly not enough to be offset by the cost of the car. Civics also can run for tons of miles, and I imagine their popularity will lead to an easier-to-replace engine than most cars. I could see a situation where in 5 years there still isn't a vehicle on the market that fits my needs better and I just get a new engine.
To me, hybrids are a stop-gap. They are better than most people's SUVs and certainly can help bring a larger car/truck into a more manageable mpg, but full-on electric is where we need to go. Why would we refine the gas delivery process into the hydrogen delivery process when the easier way to go is upgrade the electric grid and deliver that electricity right into our car. Kill two birds with one stone.
Al Gore gave me a hard-on on Meet The Press this week.
edit: Forgot to add, your 97 Civic gets better gas mileage than a new Civic, unfortunately. New safety standards have added weight to the cars that the engines aren't able to compensate for. That too will keep me from buying another gas-based car in my lifetime.
-
I was thinking about a hybrid, but the focus gets great mpg so wtf ever
-
The greatest amount of gas savings is going from a 10 mpg truck to a 30 mpg focus. The savings from a 30+ mpg focus to a 45 mpg prius are minimal in comparison.
Hybrids are a mirage and baby step. Hell Geo Metros can get over 50 mpg but they of course are a coffin on wheels made out of tin foil. But it's just absolutely sad how our situation in the US could have been avoided. The tech is so much better than what we've been fed for decades.
I want electric car.
edit: Too bad about Volt, though. We're going to need to be able to drive further than 100 miles on a charge wtf.
-
Prius cars are all backordered up here anyway, and expensive. Getting a prius with as many options as I got in my focus would have made me cry
-
Yeah they can't make the batteries fast enough. Probably another holdup for the electric car.
-
Guy at ford was downplaying their own hybrids cause of some issues replacing batteries n repairs n crap. I was already sold on the focus but still, all the more reason not to bother just yet.
-
You made a good choice!
Personal reliability + good mpg
You can't save the environment yourself, and the amount of pollution you put out in your car is but a small piece of the puzzle.
-
My carbon footprint is pretty small so I dont sweat it that much.
-
TVC, pimp out your civic and you'll get better mileage as well.
get new headers, turn it into a true dual exhaust system with a new cat. new air intake.
That will add some miles to each gallon and make your car sound like a beast.

PD got ass raped by a gang of mexicans? dude
-
wtf?
-
i don't know. you tell me!
-
i remember when i was a kid - like 4th to 6th grade range kids would always make up the dumbest shyt...
I remember one day this kid telling me that Marky MArk (new kids) had to goto the hospital and get 15 gallons of cum pumped out of his stomach...
when yer a kid you dont know;
- cum?
- stomache ache from cum?
- bodies dont digest cum?
and 1/2 way believe these sultry tales....
I then wondered why that dood would let other guys jazzle down his throat....especially if youd end up in the sick bay...
So back on topic - is it that kinda stomach ache? The "i took to many loads" gurgles?
-
You weren't a very bright kid. :lol
-
He was pretty.
-
You weren't a very bright kid. :lol
Sigh - I guess you did have more experiences with cock when you were in 4th grade.
Sorry :(
-
From the handjobs your mom gave me, I knew that they didn't produce 60 litres of cum!
How old are you abradar? Marky Mark's debut was in 1991. I was in grade four that year, so if you're older than me, you weren't in grade four when you heard that comment.
-
I just said "Marky Mark" But it was back when he was one of the new kids on the block - not his solo project..and now that I think about it, I cant recall if it was menudo or what....
It was one of those teen beat acts.
-
Marky Mark wasn't in NKOTB
smh
-
hha thats news to me :)
-
wait am I wrong?
Wahlberg first came to fame as the younger brother of Donnie Wahlberg of the successful 1980s and 1990s boy band New Kids on the Block. Mark, at age thirteen, had been one of the group's original members, along with Donnie, Danny Wood, Jordan Knight, and Jonathan Knight. Uninterested in the group's bubblegum pop and squeaky-clean image, however, he soon quit. It was his departure that eventually allowed Joe McIntyre to take his place as the fifth member of the group.

haha you had me convinced for a minute....
-
He never recorded with them. He's not part of the famous lineup.
-
Maybe he meant Donnie Wahlberg. ???
-
Maybe it was from Jalapenos?
