Knowing this, would they not want to dissociate themselves with these stereotypes? Unless "good ol' boys" are in fact ignorant and uneducated, in which case the stereotype is almost like a self-fulfilling prophecy.

I was about to make that exact comment. Since when do modern liberals count as good ol' boys?
