Found a store in Tokyo selling this week's stuff a day early, and picked these up:

I forgot Accent Core Plus was hitting the PSP so soon! It has added content including a 3-on-3 mode.

Just FF4DS for now...
-
i'm too busy with games i haven't beaten yet.
i just picked up the complete Dawn of War from steam, a game i'd never played previously so i think i have a lot of that in my future
-
i'm thinking about getting ffivds but the shitty 3d graphics have me second guessing such a purchase
-
Nothing for me until Madden 09 comes out. Unless something on a steam weekend sales interests me.

Cool, Samurai Spirits Tenkaichi got improved slightly over the original port. Against the PS2 version, the load times are faster (2-3 seconds per match rather than 5-6), the sprites got filtered (thankfully...it looks much better this way, and it's only a slight filtering job), and all the options, characters, and modes are open from the start.
SS1-4 seem to be perfectly emulated, I tried SS5 just for a second and it seemed choppy. Don't really care quite frankly; I'm just going to play SS2, SS4, and Tenka anyway. SS5 Special is NOT in. We'll see if that really does make the U.S. version of this collection.
The Wii version runs in 480p as well. I'm curious about the PS2 version and may go buy a copy to replace my original SS Tenkaichi now.

Same here. I am half-way through at least 5 different games, so I hope to finish some of them this week. Also, I think you'll love DoW. Awesomely fun game.

Lyte: Have you played the new Arc System game? I think it just came out in Japan or somethin? It looks cool

BlazBlue? It's not out yet. Maybe it's testing, I dunno. Street Fighter 4 is what everyone is playing right now.
-
I wanna play BlazBlue more than SF4 :(

You should get off yer arse n' order Hokuto No Ken and Basara X for PS2. Basara X is :o :o :o :o :o
-
I have Hokuto no Ken on PS2, but I didn't know if I should import Basara X. HnK is awesome, especially when the music picks up and all you hear is ATATATATATATATATATATATATATATA. Captures it perfectly.
-
There are two reasons to get Basara X:
1. You like Arc System Works fighting games. If you like Guilty Gear and/or Hokuto No Ken, you are going to like Basara X! It doesn't matter if you know the Basara series or not. The play style is very similar to those games, with the major addition being an assist character you can call in.
2. You like Sengoku Basara (the U.S. got the original [shitty] game, all messed up as "Devil Kings"). You know the way Hokuto No Ken has craploads of fan service, from character dialogue, to moves, to backgrounds, to music? Basara X is the same way.
Think of Basara X as Samurai Shodown with a Guilty Gear style of play.
-
how is accent core plus psp? i might import that.
-
Number 1 seems like it clicks with me. I never played any of the Sengoku Basara games. I was planning on importing Heroes for Wii to test out my Freeloader (which is now useless...yeah, fuck you nintendo) but I got Gundam instead.

SS Collection IS BETTER ON WII. :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o
:o
The PS2 version doesn't have 480p, faster load times, or the filtering. Wii wins.

Same high quality port as the other versions. It's Accent Core Plus, so you get the story mode, mission mode, and Kliff and Justice back. They also added a new three-on-three team battle mode.
-
SS0 in the PS2 version is emulated. Why didn't they include the perfectly good PS2 port that already exists? :-\

I'll get the Wii version when it hits stateside, then. Thanks for the update. :-*

You could use a PS2 adapter for the GC if it doesn't.

They never put ports in the Neo-Geo collections; always the original Neo-Geo ROMs. Some people have complained of image quality issues with that particular port too.
Really it doesn't matter: SS5 is meh meh meh and you're likely never going to play it, especially not with the superior Tenkaichi.

Don't worry, it's supported. There's also a Neo-Geo stick that just came out for the Wii if you wanna be really hardcore.
