I'll have to read the Cutthroat Island review. I used to like Cutthroat Island, until Pirates of the Caribbean came out anyway and did the whole big-budget pirate blockbuster a million times better. The soundtrack though, especially that opening credit music, is amazing.

Wow. Lots of cool AV interviews I've missed lately. Mike Mignola, Michael Ian Black, Mike Patton.  :D Got some good reads ahead of me.

It's pretty interesting that the things Mignola wanted cut out of both films are probably the best scenes in them - and he acknowledges that.
