Does Monsters have a demo? I've watched videos but I don't knwo what the fuck it's supposed to be.
-
Monsters has a demo - it's basically Tower Defense

A much lamer version of Tower Defense.....which is free.
-
How's Pain BTW?
-
I bought Pain, but I haven't downloaded it yet. I'll tell you tomorrow.
And I actually like PJ Monsters more than a good majority of other Tower Defense games. I like having the character and all that there.
-
I'd like Pixel Junk Monsters a hell of a lot more if it weren't so trial and error. All the maps have basically one solution and you just have to keep on plugging away until you find it. The beauty of Tower Defense is the randomness. You can do different stuff on the maps and have a different outcome everytime.
I initially liked PJM but quickly became bored with it and its binary design.

Is the bowling game any good?
-
It's bowling.
-
Right, but is it good at what it does? Does it use the motion control stuff?
-
I think it uses motion control. At least I remember people asking why buy this if you could play bowling in Home for free, so apparently this was the selling point. I'm satisfied with Wii Sports as my main bowling game.
-
I've heard good things, but I haven't tried it myself.
*grumble*
There really needs to be demos for this shit. They've been getting better about it but Sony needs to make it policy.
-
wow really, glad I waited to get pixeljunk monsters

Yeah, Sony needs to have an iron fist with some things. Even a system in place that only lets you play for the first 5 minutes before it shuts off would be fine with me.
-
PAIN pretty much sucks but it's a good concept.
Bowling pretty much sucks unless you LOVE bowling. You have to clutch the DS3 horizontally or some shit, and use R2 with your index finger to add curve. It's distinguished mentally-challenged, just play PAIN's bowling minigame.
-
PAIN looks like it is the crash mode from Burnout. Unless I am totally wrong in that assessment, then I am happy with my purchase.
-
$5 for PJM is good, but as HSMP said you'll be tearing your hair out later because of it's rigid nature.
I'm thinking I'll take the plunge on PAIN for $5. Maybe bowling too. I'd definitely get bowling if it had trophies.
-
PAIN's okay but it gets old fast. There's only one map, and although there are a few different game modes most are very shallow. There is no real variation in the main mode because all the destroyable objects are in the same place every time. I play it occasionally, but I would have been upset if I actually paid money for it.

$4.99 each
Pain - Ok im in at $4.99
High Velocity Bowling - not at any price
Pixeljunk Monsters - already own <3<3
High Stakes Vegas Strip - hmmm dont know
Rocketmen: Axis of Evil - no, not even at $499. Demo made me wanna die.
will probably pick up Pain, HV Bowling, and Pixeljunk Monsters

bullshit :lol. they're two different flavors of TD, and PJM is top tier for that style of TD. replay value after getting a rainbow drops off, yeah, but getting to that point is quite a lot of fun as long as you aren't a cigarillo and use a guide. i rarely play games a second time through so it doesn't really matter to me.
i've played the flash game and i was really into the wc3 maps that the flash game ripped off, and PJM is definitely a great TD game.
it really just shows how much you know about the desktop TD game you seem to be referencing as well. to get the best score, that version is just as much 'trial and error' as PJM. it all comes down to statistics in the end and you'll eventually find there's only one real option.

Fuck Dylan and his ugly producer bitch. Fuck PixelJunk as a whole for making their living off of shitty games. Fuck PSN for these fucking discounts. Everybody else should have to pay the same price for these piece of shit games that I did or give me a fucking refund you Sony fuckers.
Most of all, fuck chubigans, kaching, gofreak, Wollan, and the rest of their distinguished mentally-challenged NeoGAF ilk for hyping this piece of shit game. Fuck NeoGAF for banning me in the first place and letting those cockmunchers stay members instead so that they can continue to hype up cockmunching games.

I don't agree with the bowling hate. My family loves it. Holding the controller in the palm of your hand isn't awkward at all. The CPU characters are hard pose a good challenge. It was one of the first games to allow custom soundtracks. The lack of online play is a black eye for the game though. $5 is a no brainer folks, trust me.
I was thinking about High Stakes. Anyone here play it? How is the camera function used online?
-
Pain is pretty fun.
Dynamic ads are also great because I was able to punch Will Ferrel on the Stepbrothers ad in the face using a superman punch.

Where are the dynamic ads? Pain?
-
Yeah. There are two billboards in the game that are now showing off Stepbrother and 21. I can't quite reach Kevin Spacey, but Will Farrel is fair game.
Unlocking Demolition is also a pain to do.
-
FUK YAH PAIN MICROTRANSACTIONS SO I CAN SLING POLYGONAL BITCHES INTO DYNAMIC ADS HERE I COME
-
The micro transactions are ridiculous. You can play as one character in the game. Everything else cost $1 to unlock. Fuck that.
Oh, and an extra mode actually needs to be downloaded, but at least it is free.
-
I love Pain. 4-player horse mode with friends never gets old.
-
Is Pain online, or is it local only?

I think it's local only at the moment. There's talk of online play in the future.
