At least the modding community will save the game from being a boring piece of shit.

Mafia 2 is the only "open-world with crime" style game I'm really looking forward to on the PC. The whole feel of GTA4 just doesn't sit with me well (for a vairety of reasons, most of them out of distaste for graphic violence against non-agressors and themeatically offensive-to-me content), and Saints Row 2 looks well, sorta ridiculous.

I can't wait for Mafia 2.  The first game was amazing on PC, but sadly (not really) the console port was bad.

Yeah I'm not a big fan of GTA4.  The game is more linear than the previous installments, and the actual mission variety is not very good at all.  I got bored about 15 hours into the game and have no interest coming back.

I'm waiting on Mafia 2.

At least some of us will be able to play it at a decent framerate now.

Christ, it'd be nice if someone modded the R3 missions back into the game.  :maf

GTA4 isn't even worth pirating on PC let alone purchasing.  The only way it's worth it is if they make some unbelievable mod that drastically changes the game.

I thought Mafia was overrated... the actual gameplay is at least.  It felt like running errands (a lot like GTA4).

I'm beginning to think that almost all of these sandbox games basically come down to running errands.

The only exception so far being Crackdown.

I don't see how Mafia felt like running errands, at least not in the same sense as GTA4 or other sandbox games.  You were working for the mob, all your missions came from them, that was your job and lifestyle.  It wasn't any bullshit like "yo yo, my name is Manny, will you help me Niko?".  You had to work your way up from that cab driver who had to run away to the guy who was beating cars down with a baseball bat to the guy killing a family at the airport.

Too bad they don't have a sandbox game where you just do whatever the fuck you want, and missions just happen.

Infamous is going to be one of them.

They showed at E3 that you basically just walk around and see shit happening, then you jump in and there could be a random boss fight.

STALKER is actually another game where missions just happen, but most big things still need to be taken from some guy.  Like, you could be  passing by an area and you will see people raiding a camp and you have the choice to kill them or not.

As for ones that are on the 360.  I think maybe Prototype? I'm not really sure.

Stalker would have been better if you weren't a total pussy to start with. Fucking dogs kept killing me cause my pistol was useless and not able to aim correctly.

I guess he must be starved for anything new on PC.

GTA4 PC will be the best version if it's easily modded-- I bet some great things will come from that.

Yeah, but you have Saints Row 2 coming out on PC now.  Why would you get GTA4 when you already have Saints Row 2?

We can rebuild it. We have the technology. We have the capability to build the world's first 'fun' version of GTA4. Faster, playable, and all around more enjoyable than before.

PC uber alles!

why fix a turd when you can just play a game that probably won't suck (saints row 2)?

My PC sucks. Shame on Rockstar for making a game that fans have to buy twice and fix themselves to truly enjoy.

Why not play both if you can afford them?

because one is shit and not worth playing nor investing the time to try and "fix".

EB has it up on its page.

:bow PC gaming :bow2
If I get a decent gaming PC, I'll double dip, but only if GTA IV shows up on Steam like the other R* PC games...

you can't fix something that is fundamentally broken

We were told that at this late stage of development, Rockstar are spending the next three months tweaking and polishing the game for its PC launch.

Already superior than the console version.
