You can get FDIC insured 12 month with like 5.0% right now if you work it.

That only earns you $350 with no tax pentalty (till you go over $1,500 - oh fuck right yer in Canada - I know nothing)

But its better than 3.2 or so in a savings account where it is liquid. ($224 II)

I was thinking about putting half into 5 year bonds and then taking a student loan for my second year but I'm not sure yet.

You do 5 year deals when yer my age and got alot to toss around. Yer not gonna end up in shit creek with money you cant touch - thats no good for your rapid evolution phase.
