Title: Gambit is in Wolverine movie - yay or nay?

I vote nay on Gambit. But I did like the inclusion of what looks to be THE BLOB.

Why is it called X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE? X-Men films have the worst titles (X2: X-MEN UNITED!). Why can it not simply be called WOLVERINE?

... The writer is decent, but the director is unproven. I think Fox kind of missed the boat on the X-Men craze, though. They cashed in the goodwill for quick bank on The Last Stand, and that will hurt them here.

I'm more intrigued by the inclusion of The Blob and Deadpool more than anything else. Barring insane word of mouth - this looks like a total rental. A Netflix XBL rental, so I can make fun of it with TVC.

i think deadpool would be a better tv series than movie outing

basic cable type thing

of course my favorite deadpool stuff ever was Gail Simone's Agent X.

I can't wait for the scene where a bully punches him in the face though and he heals all the sudden. The kids look at him and call him strange and this leads to his isolation.

I loved A Complete Lowlife, but I really started to follow him when Sleeper debuted. I started an e-mail correspondence with him when Sleeper hit the streets and did my best to promote it with homemade .gifs on GAF and other forums. As a result, he sent me some autographed stuff for free. He told me to start reading Catwoman and Gotham Central, but I thought that stuff was for the birds, so he sent me a bunch of issues of both for free. I got hooked. He's still very cool, but I haven't spoken to him in awhile. After a couple of his projects went belly up because lack of sales, like Gotham Central, I do my best to buy his works (Criminal and Captain America as of late) and not take his hand outs.

How is the director "unproven"? He won an OSCAR. Unless you mean about him doing action films,then I can see where you're coming from.

Gavin Hood probably won because Tsotsi sounds kind of like Tootsie, and the Academy went with their gut.

his Uncanny X-men however...I wouldn't touch it were it not for scans. Apart from that, I think I like basically everything he's written, with Sleeper probably being my fave.

I just remember that trivia bit from the back of a Skybox card. I never did read any of the X-men comics, but when I was a kid I collected pretty much every Marvel '92 and Skybox '93 X-men card. I always thought Deadpool, Omega Red, and Shatterstar looked cooler than everyone else.

i may just man up and buy the Omnibus edition since I haven't a hope in hell of getting the oversized hardcovers anymore

the thing which makes me hesitant about buy the omnibus editions is that they seem really unwieldy and hard to read and there's also a degree of fear that they won't ever put out a volume 2.

Still, Miller, Bendis and Brubaker are really the only DD writers I like I think. Anyway, I don't see how you could like Cap and not like this or Immortal Iron Fist (especially the issues with David Aja art :drool)
