from egm or something
- Skate 2:
- Can get off your skateboard and push/pull objects to alter skate routes.
- Pedestrians move out of your way.
- No load times when teleporting to a session marker
- Play as a girl
- Tiger Woods-like character editor
- Default camera tweaked. New 3rd person camera
- Using EA's site for uploading videos again
- 60 fps
- Takes place 5 years later. City hit with unknown disaster and was rebuilt.
:bow EA :bow2

"unknown disaster" hahaha
-
i hope i can optionally use the old camera. and no load times for teleporting to session marker... ever? i guess they just keep that whole area in your ram the entire time.
they give a date for release?

:bow EA :bow2
Even Skate It doesn't seem too horrible given the hardware they are forced to work with.

This sounds kinda stupid (leave it to puzzle games) but the rest of the game sounds awesome, especially the "natural disaster" scenario... Much better than any Tony Hawk game.
-
you guys are distinguished mentally-challenged. not being able to get off your skateboard was probably skate's biggest fault. and adding interactivity to the world sounds great. skate is a freeform game -- i doubt you're going to repeatedly be forced to get off and "fix" ramps etc. it just means you can move around certain objects to create your own setups.
-
It means that you are no longer glued to your skate board like some kind of freak. It was stupid to try and turn around when you hit a corner by leaning back and doing a spin around. Getting off your skateboard adds a lot more freedom to what you can do and removes a lot of the hassle.
-
Getting off your skateboard is also a freeform of skating, lots of people like Rodney Mullen incorporate it
-
Hopefully they can take the awesome mechanics and actually build a fun game around it this time.
-
People seem to think that getting off the board was what made THPS bad.
-
love skate.
but i agree w/ everyone else... getting off your skateboard is a fucking distinguished mentally-challenged idea.
all the other features though. :hyper :hyper :hyper :hyper :o :o :o :o so excited!

Why is getting off the board so bad? It will make it so much easier to get to places to set up cool tricks and stuff. Why should you be constantly be glued to the board? That's stupid and makes getting around in some spots a pain in the ass.
-
as long as they don't make it part of the trick system, i'd be good with it. you're right, it would be good for walking up stairs and shit like that. but if they go the tony hawk route, it's straight distinguished mentally-challenged.

It didn't. It was actually cool with how they handled it in THUG (which was an alright game), but all the jackass dumbshit and actually making you do stuff off your board is what got annoying.
-
too soon i think. it will get buried if its out in november.

It's been quite awhile since I've played it. But, I can remember several different parts of the city I would say "If only I could just climb those stairs or hill". I think the doubters have to remember that Skate has tried to take more of a sim route from the start. I doubt they are going to get crazy with it like the Tony Hawk series...climbing billboards and power lines. ::)
