Tell me why that's a bad move, and I may or may not change it.
Is there compatibility issues? [i.e. file formats, etc]
Are important features missing?
My focus is the word processor, and the spreadsheet thingie [what MS calls Excel], and the powerpoint thingie.
Also, it's for student-ish use, not really for business.
But while we're at it: lets talk about any negative aspects if I were to use it for business use.

Open office powerpoint and excell suck. I like to use MS Office so i'm 100% always compatible with my school and it's a cleaner and more user friendly interface.

You may run into formatting issues. But I've always had no problems as you can save your files in office extensions.(.doc, .xls, etc.)

If this is a money issue it may save you in the short term, but for compatibilities sake its not a horrible idea to get Office eventually. The latest office edition is pretty sweet imo.
