Title: What is it about George W. Bush that makes you want to serve him?
Post by: Mandark on July 28, 2008, 10:05:00 PM: I was going to just bump this thread (http://www.evilbore.com/forum/index.php?topic=22301), but the potential title for this one is just too good.

Summary: An internal report (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/07/28/AR2008072801007_pf.html) shows that the Justice Department was hiring based on political criteria for what are meant to be nonpartisan civil service jobs.

Among the questions asked of applicants:

* Tell us about your political philosophy. There are different groups of conservatives, by way of example: Social Conservative, Fiscal Conservative, Law & Order Republican.

* Why are you a Republican?

* Aside from the President, give us an example of someone currently or recently in public service who you admire.

* What is it about George W. Bush that makes you want to serve him?

I'm kind of amazed that they were this direct. How hard would it have been to do this in a more deniable way?

If I were a fiscal conservative (which I am with my own personal finances) I would be kinda pissed at that number.

at this point the only thing which will applicably change politics is when the whole country is run by Hispanics in a hundred years or so and Muslims run Europe (again!)

That number is inflated by the ~$170 billion tax rebate though.
