on Wii.
-
on Wii.
WHO CARES.
-
...youtube link just says it's a music video to the dreamcast game?
-
It's a tribute to the first game. It's celebration time!
-
fuck sega
-
It's a tribute to the first game. It's celebration time!
so there's a new game? why didn't you link to or post information about the new game..?
-
All we know about it is that Sega has filed a trademark for a new Jet Set Radio for wii.
-
WHO CARES.
Someone like me. Someone who saw how good next gen cel-shading is and hopes for a series he likes a lot to get the same treatment.
Being able to spray your own graffiti with the Wii remote is cool, but not only do I not trust current Sega, I am also guessing this game wold probably look on par with Jet Set Radio and not JSRF.
-
They'll save money by reusing the Dreamcast engine.

So what you're saying is that you're a graphics whore and could care less about geting a new game in the series and care more about graphics! NICE! Shit, this could very well be a port. I'd be HAPPY with that.

If I wanna play JSR I'll play it on the Dreamcast--you know, the console that actually outputs VGA

JSR ost > JSRF ost
But both are great!!
-
They'll save money by reusing the Dreamcast engine.
and it will look even worse
and control worse
with worse quality music
massive losses all round :gloomy
-
i hope they put as much effort into this as they did with nights: journey of dreams
-
I'm not saying I won't buy it or anything like that, I'm just saying it is a shame to see this series turn into fodder Sega uses to get credit in between shitty Sonic games and now crossover titles with Mario.
And asking for good graphics for this series is a given. I mean, did you play this game when it first came out or understand the style it is going for? I was floored when I first saw this game because of the incredibly innovative cel-shaded style it was using. The unique style it had going perfectly matched the musical and gameplay tone the game was trying to set. It is natural to think with more powerful hardware they can get further along and improve the original style they were going for. It is like with Rez on 360 and HD and how it helped it get more of that vector look it was trying to go for.
Also,

Fuck the haters. Birthday Cake is awesome.
-
eh. the first game is one of my all time favorites, but 'on wii' is synonymous with 'half assed' -- and i didn't like jsrf for that matter
watch this be a port anyway
-
I hope there are extensive CG cutscenes where everyone stands around talking about stuff
-
i hope they put as much effort into this as they did with nights: journey of dreams
hexagon sleeves
bizarre pedophilic owls
-
actually all we know is that sega have filed a trademark -- trademarks don't have target platforms. that it's on wii is an unrelated rumor
-
There's only 2 people at eb that like Shamoo.
-
List them out. If I am not on that list, then throw me on there.

Details, man, DETAILS! Has anything been revealed? Port? New game? What is it?!
-
Japan. lol.
-
So what you're saying is that you're a graphics whore and could care less about geting a new game in the series and care more about graphics! NICE! Shit, this could very well be a port. I'd be HAPPY with that.
That sounds shit, and you're the reason why Wii is ruining gaming
Just hook up your Dreamcast and download an ISO (excuse me, CDI)
-

1st thing viz has said that I completely disagree with. Aisle 10 is an absolute travesty of a song

i don't need a reason to download an iso. i got da game.
-
Ports are wack Himu. RECOGNIZE.
I mean, a port from Sega will probably be the same game but worse. You may as well hook your Dreamcast up again and play.
-
Himuro, it's interesting to note that Jet Grind Radio (not Set) was trademarked. It pretty much guarantees that it's related to either the DC or GBA (iPhone port?) game.
Personally, I am hoping for a Wii port of the Dreamcast original. :-[
-
i do not have high hopes.

I had the biggest crush on a girl I worked with named Allison. It didn't go anywhere though. :-\
Also, putting a new JSR on Wii is like the most obvious thing ever, that's why I'm surprised SEGA is doing it.
-
Japan. lol.
JSR fan.

If you saw her at the disco (whoa whoa) would you dance with her?
-
Himuro said he would be happy with a port? Shit, how could I miss that.
A "port" probably wouldn't even be as good as the original DC version, himu. WTF are you smoking?
Did you ever play JSRF?
yes, and jsr is better
-
Personally, I am hoping for a Wii port of the Dreamcast original. :-[
Exactly. It would not only give the people who missed that game a chance to play it, it would give the vets a new way to play a classic if done well.
Also, I refuse to call Jet Set Jet "Grind" Radio. It's stupid. They even say JET SET RADIOOOOOOOOO in the game. Why say Grind?
-
drawing the graffiti with the Wiimote could be cool....
could be...
-
Japan. lol.

JSR fan.
Or Raiden making his daily commute to Outworld.
-
argh i should read next time. :-\
-
Jet Grind Radio (it's Grind radio you fucking japafags, if you live in the US) was a POS game. Slow and boring, shitty soundtrack.
Jet Set Radio Future though, now THATS a great game with a great soundtrack.

-
It's called Jet Grind Radio. That's the name of the fucking game.
-
I think GAF makes Himu like this.
GAF - the place where every game is addressed by its Japanese name (its like hillbillies being into sushi)
GAF - the place where a sequel to a crusty 8/16 bit game that wasn't even good, and none of the GAFfots even played is hyped to be a system selling megaton (because pretending your were around for old skool gaming makes you seem experienced)
-
No, it's fucking JET SET RADIO. Forget Japan or America, blame shitty license/IP problems. The game is Jet Set Radio, eat a penis.
I think I'll go play Jet Grind Radio Futu-- oh wait.
-
You live in Japan.
-
You live in Japan.
Doesn't matter. I didn't when Jet SET Radio came out. I thought it was dumb when I went to E3 2000 and they kept saying "JET GRIND RADIO STAGE SHOW!" for their dancing segment with the game. And I especially thought it was stupid when I got the American version, took it out of the "Jet Grind Radio" package, put the game in my Dreamcast, and although the title screen had a horrible voice-over say "Jet GRIND Radiooooooooo," the rest of the game stay untouched as Jet Set Radio. "Grind" just doesn't fit.
-
ok so forget about this one title...
There could be a shooter in the US called "missile commander 8" - the japanese name might be "basu basu bakkimoura no shindo 13"
A GAFfot will always call it "basu basu bakkimoura no shindo 13" even if they are a black guy from Texas who lives in Florida.
That what MEth and I mean - stop trying too hard.
The Dreamcast game is Jet Grind Radio - regardles of the reason.
None of this even applies to you because yer in Japan.
-
also GRIND does fit because you spend 80% of the game doing rail grinds.
-
The Dreamcast game is Jet Grind Radio - regardles of the reason.
See, but it's NOT. Or rather, it has two names, and either one is fine. Really, who gives a crap? I'm ragging on you cuz I'm a big fanboy for this game.
None of this even applies to you because yer in Japan.
But that doesn't matter because we're speaking English. Saying that is just as fanboy as "gaffots," but what you are talking about is not gaf, it's the internet gaming fanboy-nerd in general. Being in Japan is not some sort of gaming nerd social status.
It's like in Street Fighter: It doesn't matter where you live, it's gotten annoying talking about M. Bison, Balrog, and Vega, because those are different characters in different countries. So it's boxer, dictator, and claw on the internets now. Guess we should just start calling it "cel-shaded Sega skate game." Now everyone can be happy. :)
-
Hey man I use to skateboard - I GRIND ;)
-
That wasn't what the Jet Set Radio lifestyle was all about! Besides, what skateboards? ;)
-
smh, Groo. It's "Shiyaddo Obu Za Korososu," DUH. ::)
-
abrader, why are you talking shit. Noone on GAF calls SoTC "Wanda to Kyouzou" so you don't have a fucking leg to stand on.
Well they will call it that now that you have tipped them off :(
-
'jet grind radio' means less than nothing and is one of the stupidest videogame titles ever. saying 'wanda to kyouzou' would at bottom be less repulsive than an exaggerated respect for a lazy title forced on sega of america by legal circumstances
-
You live in Japan.

Word. The whole JET GRIND RADIOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO thing is distinguished mentally-challenged at the title screen. It doesn't fit with the rest of the game at all.
It is JET SET RADIO. They even call it JET SET RADIO in the game. Jet Grind Radio is the lamest name ever. This has nothing to do with with jappafaggotry or gaf and more to do with having taste. Jet Grind Radio is gay.
-
Jet Set Radio makes absolutely no sense you squinty eyed yellow wanting motherfuckers
-
How doesn't it? It makes as much sense as "Jet Grind Radio". Jet Set Radio sounds cooler.
-
Grind is better because you GRIND most of the bloody game...
Grinding is cool...Jet Set is for gay mimes.
-
What about Jet Set Radio Future? You're wearing rocket equipped skates that make you fly like a jet.
bububububububububu
You don't really grind most of the game. You CAN grind. But most of the time you don't really have to. Of course, there are grind and wall ride oriented levels such as Grind Square and Bantam Street.
-
You distinguished mentally-challenged fellow you have to grind to complete most of the levels in teh shitty first agme anyways
-
This argument is utterly stupid.
-
No you don't. The second game is more grind oriented. In JSR, you typically have multiple routes. You have a high ground, or low ground. If there's a rail, typically there's stairs. If you're in the sewer level, or the multi-leveled Fight or Flight (:bow best level of all time :bow2) when you go down in to the sewers, sure you can grind on top of the sewer pillars or crevices, but it's actually FASTER to not grind. In JSR grinding depends on anything and everything to do with physics, your speed, your sense of momentum, and how you are levetated when grinding. Thus, most of the time it's actually faster to walk or jump up a pair of stairs than grinding up it. JSRF does not have this, so it places more emphasis on grinding.
There are really only two levels where there is emphasis on grinding in the first JSR: Bantam Street, Grind Square, and mayyyyyybe Benten Burning (:bow :bow :bow)
-
This argument is utterly stupid.
agreed.
-
jet set
–noun a fashionable social set composed of wealthy people who travel frequently by jetliner to parties and resorts.
-
See it doestn even make any fucking sense to call it Jet Set Radio
-
I was really bored, so I decided to edit that one guy's Jet Set Radio PS3 theme to include sound effects and a new background. Just browsing my PS3 makes me wish that the combo JSRF/SegaGT DVD was BC or that I would hook up my Dreamcast.
-
It was Jet Set Radio in Europe too. Stupid fucking americans.
OMG LINK TO THE PS3 THEME FOR JSR!?!?!?
JSRF looks good on the 360 upscaled. Still not widescreen though :(
-
Original: http://www.psu.com/Jet-Grind-Radio--theme-234.php
One I just made with different background (This (http://static.flickr.com/136/328051452_1d58f0bff4_o.jpg)) and sound effects: http://www.sendspace.com/file/fsymy5
-
The combo disc is BC.
-
Some japafag shit in this thread right here.
That said, none of you played enough JSRF to actually attempt to call Francesca Reyes at OXM to figure out what the "IT" they had referred to was. That was the game that made me a Mr. Softee man. Without it, I probably would've bought a gamecube and waited for Too Human *shudders like a motherfucker in the snow*.
-
Hey, JSRF is one of my favorite games of all time. I love it more than JGR so much more, and think it's phenomenal.
Did you ever find that "secret glitch" that supposedbly exists at the end of the game? Supposedbly a graffiti tiger boss shows up, but I could never get him to show up
-
My favorite glitch is the nonexistent xl tag in the skyscraper district. I never did find the graffiti tiger.
Fastest time beating the game is 11:30 and that was just goofing off.
-
My favorite glitch is the nonexistent xl tag in the skyscraper district.
i can never find that shit.
and yeah, JSRF is my favorite xbox game and favorite platformer of last gen. Unless JSR is counted as a platformer I think that's better! But the platforming isn't better. Hmm.
-
The combo disc is BC.
Oh shit. I thought it was only the single disk version. I'm gonna play some later today. I'm gotta remember not to get emotional.
-
protip: Get there REALLY FUCK FAST LIKE A LITTLE OVER 30 SECONDS FROM ONE END OF THE STAGE TO ANOTHER
-
11 hours or 11 minutes? o.O
I wouldn't want to speed run through the game, I loved the time I had in it. Can't wait to go back and jam with Tab/Corn
-
11 hrs, but I could lop off ALOT of that. and that wasn't just beating the game that was EVERYTHING.
-
PFFFFFT my fastes (and first time) was 8 hours.
Wow you must sux dix
-
the first time i played it took me like 40 hours.
Probably because I left my xbox on all day
-
Who did you guys use for characters?
Please tell me you didnt use the japanese homo Gum or whatever the guy on the cover of Jet Grind Radio's homo name was.
-
Garam. Garam is the best.
-
JSR: Pirahna, Beat, Gum
JSRF: Boogie, Cube, Beat, Yoyo, Gum
I mostly stick with Pirahna and Boogie though.
-
I used Gum and Cube :heartbeat
Combo was cool too.
