Title: 2900 calories :(

Quote
1. Outback Steakhouse

... doesn't want you to know that the only nutritional information it provides is for its Tangy Tomato Dressing. When we contacted the company, a spokesperson claimed, "Ninety percent of our meals are prepared by hand ... Any analysis would be difficult to measure consistently." Yet, no fewer than 45 national restaurant chains do just that. One of our sources—calorieking.com, which has analyzed more than 55,000 foods—reported that an order of Outback's Aussie Cheese Fries has 2,900 calories, and its Ayers Rock Strip has 60 grams of fat.

July 2008 Update: Because Outback has a New York City location, it's been forced to reveal nutritional info. It lists the Aussie Cheese Fries at 2,030 calories. Did the company change the recipe? Reduce the portion size? Stay tuned: We'll be investigating this further.

I saw this guy on the Today show awhile back and the caloric intake on these restaurant entrees was astronomical.

If you want to live past the age of 35, avoid a Blooming Onion at all costs.

it's not like everyone eats a fucking bloomin onion or cheese-smothered fries with every meal

you should be more concerned about the movie popcorn dripping with fake butter that everyone crams in their hole at the theater, that's something you'd probably eat much more often, and even without the butter the fat content is astronomical

Yeah this is why I don't go near sit down chains anymore. The amount of calories they put in a lot of their food for the sake of "flavor" is appalling.

mentally I was like "well it's chicken so it must be better for me than the burger" WRONG

I had a most delicious lunch of Fesenjan (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fesenjan) today. YUM.

There is this Persian place about 10 minutes away that we abuse so very very much. It's fun and easy to cook as well, and gives me an excuse to make saffron rice NOM NOM NOM.

I dunno when youre always watching your weight (as you get older) its hard to imagine taking in that many calories. Your mind instantly starts working out how it will affect the scale next week. Fear of weight gain is like the scouting party for the fear of death.
