shame it's on the 360! how idea factory managed to make a competent, well-designed srpg with a good interface and smart (rather than needlessly complicated) mechanics is beyond me, but they did. on the other hand, ps2 assets suck in high-def. fortunately, srpgs don't need great graphics to be hugely engaging -- or competent voice work. i've done about 5 story missions and 6 side missions, and i've never once encountered the high-concept-meets-poor-implementation cheese that typically defines an idea factory game. HOW DID THIS HAPPEN.
anyway, if you need about 80 hours of turn-based animu mercenary band action, and can overlook the fact that you're essentially playing an upscaled ps2 game, spectral force 3 is a good option, even at $60. thumbs up; will play more; better than ffta2; buy a 360; yadda yadda fuck off.

first Ive heard about this game, I take it it got a US release? If its region free then I'll pick it up :-* Last SRPG I played was Ring of Red and I loved it, wont be hard to top so my ass is hard for this
-
fairly easy achievements that are all tied to character recruitment, too
-
Requires 2 play-throughs to get all of them
-
i would be happy to get 50% of all achievements in the game
you can get 38/40 in one playthrough, though
-
I'll wait until a guide is made - I'm going to finish Operation Darkness first
-
Here's a good achievement guide for OD in the meantime

-
the main male character is named BEGINA, by the by
-

Spectral Force 3
That about wraps it up for Atlus
-
beat it and can now grind like a mofo
-
goty
-
Never heard of it. How much is it and how long did it take you to beat it?
-
I might just have to buy this and let it rot on my shelf
-
$60, and it takes about 70-80 hours to beat the main quest + most of the side quests according to gamefaqs
-
this game is more profoundly satisfying than robbycock, demi fails
-
I think that has more to do with your lust for little girls and numbers
-
this game is packed with shirtless bishies, lolis are nary to be seen
:drool eerie queerie :drool
-
Explains why you were playing it so late last night
-
I am praying this is region free
off to check play asia
fuck NTSC U/J only :gloomy
-
Are you using a guide? You have a nice amount of achievements this early on, so I am assuming you are reading an official guide or GameFAQs (which I checked and there really isnt one aside from some loosely translated japaFAQ).
-
nope, although i went to gamefaqs to find if lockups were common
-
Well, I'll probably get it then, I hope it's not hard to find yet. The fact there is no time achievement like OD means I can grind and jerk off to catboys and littleboys at my own leisure.
-
Sucky game. God I can't believe it sucks more than Operation Darkness.
Cheesy VA
So, so so lame script
Unbelievable sucky gameplay. Press a button to attack? seriously? what the fucking fuck is this shit trying to do with me? :\
The story at the begining of the game ahahahaha. Man it's full of cheese. I like my games with AT LEAST 'good' storyline, I have high standards and really can not stand Idea Factory shit :maf If you don't know how to properly manage to create a good story with a decent script, you're a fuckoff shit
Characters are lollilol
shitshit fuckfuck
/rant
Sorry Prole, I have to disagree with you. I completely hate the game, and am actually sad that it didn't turned out to be good (to me, at least) :(
Well, uh... time to continue Devil Summoner. I can't believe I paused it to play an Idea Factory game.
And please, don't take anything personally (http://www.qatarfootball.com/vb/images/smilies/fear.gif)
EDIT: What I meant in "Press a button to attack?" is that, you press A for a light attack, X for a medium attack and Y for a high attack (something like that, not sure -and don't care- about the proper buttons). This is really lame IMO.
-
there are no games with a good or even decent storyline; all complaints about plot and characters are academic
and what's wrong with mapping buttons to attacks? beats selecting them from a menu, which takes longer
animu fagsacks go home
