Title: Q about sub domains.
Post by: GilloD on August 11, 2008, 11:30:24 AM
Thank you for aiding my graceless wander towards technical competency- We need to set up a subdomain to host our Wordpress blog. Do we do this through our web host (Who I'd rather not have involved) or through our registrar?

Uggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. You have to motherfucking ask them for EVERYTHING. I've been waiting EIGHT DAYS for them to copy/paste a Google Map into an HTML file because they won't let me do it myself.

At the end of the year we absolutely will. It's pulling teeth with them. But we're at a big transition moment and before I was hired I think my boss signed a contract for a year, so we're fucking stuck for now.

stop giving this host money, FFS.  transfer your domain elseware.  it takes me a matter of minutes to have a subdomain up and running.

Feeling empowered, I sent them a message that was like: "This is f'in easy, do it and have it done by the end of the day, this shouldn't take so long" and lo and behold it got done iin like 3 hours. Awesome
