Title: So I listened to Wuthering Heights on the way home

It was the first pleasing song that came on shuffle during my drive home.  A couple of things surprised me:

1) I know all the words to the song, which implies that I've listened to it a lot more than I thought I have.
2) I can understand Kate Bush's voice.
3) The song is basically all that's worth knowing about that book.  If any of you ever have to read the book by that whore lesbian Bronte woman, I suggest you put the bitch to the curb and go for Kate Bush instead.

oh jesus fuck no.  I did DL a Project Gutenberg audiobook of The King in Yellow, though.  I was just distracted and full of drugs so I wanted music.

Who the FUCK would want to listen to that?  Why even waste the PC cycles?  Although it might be entertaining to listen to Robo Alexander Pope or something.

I only listened to a few minutes of the first part.  I am just assuming it is the same reader throughout.

Wuthering Heights was the one novel I actually read in high school. I pretty much had to if I wanted to graduate. Bad case of senioritis, you see. The first half of my senior year was slack city. Missed class, missed homeworks, missed tests, you name it.

Anyway, I actually liked the book. I even bought it and reread it a few years ago when I discovered the concept of "reading for pleasure," which was of course unheard of.

I like the "Wuthering heights"-video where Kate dances around barefoot and in a red dress in front of a tree like a nutjob..

Much better than the official video...

I can watch her interpretive dance all day!

And she was only like 18 when these were made.  I think she looks older than that.

I thought Jane Eyre was pretty great up until the screwy ending.  I guess that's not necessarily predictive of my reaction to books by different Brontes as yet unread by me.

How did I miss this thread?

TVC :bow

Its amazing how Kate Bush looks more mature than she actually was there and it also translated in her lyrics. Her first record contained shit she wrote from when she was like 15-16 or something.
