White Man just linked me to the new Halloween theme available online (http://www.tylerbates.com/media/audio/halloween_theme.mp3). What the fuck was wrong with the old Halloween theme? Nothing, that's what. And then first off, the actual cue doesn't start until like five hours into the track. Nobody cares about your garbage synth bullshit Zombie, go make some more disappointing albums.
Available HERE (sorry, we'll get hyperlink colors fixed, folks!): http://www.tylerbates.com/media/audio/halloween_theme.mp3

No hope for this movie. A few reasons why:
1) Rob Zombie
Link isn't working, lovey.

I think that's kind of harsh. I think both House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil's Rejects are better than they have any right to be. Also, The Devil's Rejects is such a vast improvement over the House to such a degree that I'd actually say Rob Zombie could potentially make a great horror movie. The man clearly loves the genre.
Also, Zombie didn't do this theme. Tyler Bates did. DUH.

We'll see. I consider the first Halloween the greatest horror film of all time, but every movie after that was just no.
I still enjoy Dragula from time to time. You can't call me a non-fan and get away with it.

The masses were brainwashed to like Dragula by including it in the soundtrack of over 95% of the PS1 library.
-
The sound effects in it remind me of those Halloween CDs that people play outside of their house for treak or treaters.

:D
Seriously, just get John Carpenter a new CASIO. There's your new theme.
-
Normally, I like most all of Rob Zombie's/White Zombie's music, but this totally unnecessary tinkering of Carpenter's theme is a little upsetting.
There's something about the timbre of the keyboard that is downright maddening, because I just know Zombie wanted to tweak it ever so little to give it some sort of "twisted" overtone.
This new theme just foreshadows the likelihood of total suck that the remake will be.
-
Has it been confirmed it's a complete remake? I thought it was just a reboot ala H20?
-
You know, I'm not sure... I kept hearing "remake" tossed around, so I just assumed. But now that you mention it, it seems more likely that it would be some sort of reboot nonsense. I guess reboots are Hollywood's new remakes.

The thought of someone new cast as Dr. Loomis makes me want to walk down the street to Burbank and burn Dimenson to the ground.

Dr. Loomis? Zombie's version will have DOCTOR SATAN!
-
You joke now, but when the press release hits....
-
Wait, wait, wait. Back the fuck up:
Rob Zombie is re-making Halloween?

He's directing the next installment, whether that is a remake or reboot or sequel is up for debate.

WAIT WAIT WAIT
What the fuck is this shit? :o

Well, uh...it's not like it can be any worse than the other sequels.
-
This song? Gay and unnecessary. Rob Zombie the director? Underrated. The Devil's Rejects was such a shockingly awesome experience.

Halloween II was great. :)

Halloween 2 is great in theory. In execution, not so much.

Eh, it didn't do much for me. But myself and a friend of mine basically just watch the movie for Loomis, because Loomis is that awesome.
"I shot him six times!"
-
Loomis kind of turned into a creepy pedophile-looking guy by the end of the series, though.
-
Devil's Rejects was okay..
I haven't heard the song yet.
-
Halloween II, IV and V are worthy sequels, but just barely. The Halloween series overall is a pile of wanton suck with a few gems thrown in...

No joke. I really didn't expect much after House of 1000 Corpses, but I was very pleasantly surprised.
-
My favorite thing about Halloween II is how grass magically grew during Michael Myer's fall from the balcony.
Those "Spooky-time" sound effects CDs were the first thing that popped into my mind when I heard the "new" theme, too.
