Title: Possibly dumb laptop question...
Post by: Oblivion on August 17, 2008, 08:36:32 PM
This is my first time owning a laptop, and I've noticed that this thing gets really hot. I mean REALLY hot, to the point that it's almost difficult to carry the damn thing. Is it normal for laptops to be hot?

Mine gets hot when I play games on it or I block the vent, normally its just warm. The beefier the laptop the hotter it will get probably.

Warning - If you keep your laptop on your lap for too long, the heat will start burning away your sperm.

if its some heavy duty laptop, like gaming laptop, then expect some degree of heat

but regular laptops? it shouldnt get that hot.

hows the temperature? and is the fan working, and hows the fan noise level?

I got a notebook cooler and I use an application to force my fans to high speed. Running at around 40-50 degrees now usually.

Yeah, it turned out to be a ventilation issue. The way I set it up, I kept covering up all the air ducts. Now it runs fine. Thanks, men!
