Via emulation techniques. Demi, the
pirate master would know. What's the biggest memory you can put on PSP and how many games?
Note: this is for strictly legal reasons. :-*
-
they vary in size, some are a couple gigs, others are like 40mb.
and you can compress most of them
I win
-
on average, a psp CSO (compressed ISO) is about 400 to 800 MB. the biggest stick is 8GB ($80). do the math!
-
I think the biggest sticks are 8 gigs, and the biggest games are about 1.5 gigs. Games cover the whole range between 100 megs and max size, so YMMV.
-
Depends on the game.
Here's what I have sitting here:
MMPU 256MB
Open Tee 2 899MB
Wipeout Pulse 327MB
I have a 4GB card. I've got emulators and games for every major console, plus Driver and FF7 for PS1 on there. Something like 300MB free.
-
wait, where can i get a 16gb card
I MUST KNOW
-
The answer is a lot
-
The real answer is not many cause there are no good games on PSP
-
8gbs have been on sale for $50 at Fry's in the last month. Prices for the 8gbs will probably come down soon.
-
I only have a 2 gig stick and keep Outrun 2 ripped at all times there along with the current game I rip.
-
16 gig card.
that's enough to hold C64, Spectrum, Snes, genesis etc.... so 40-50k games easily possible.
For PSP games, all depends - if you legally rip and compress your PSP games, you can end up with a ton.
Say that the average game is around 450 mb compressed, so you are probably looking at around 35 games or so?
(obviously some games are bigger than others)
not sure it's the same as Japan, but the microSD to MSD adapter = win.
I have a small carry case with 6 x 8 gig, 4 x 4 gig, 4 x 2 gig - costs way less for Micro SD's here than mem stick duo's here.
TELL ME MORE OF THIS FABLED ADAPTER WISE ONE. :o
-
One thing I never do is shrink ISOs. Is there an easy to use CSO shrinker app out there?
And man, I want that 16gb memory stick duo so bad...but it's like 30,000 yen.

There's a good overall tutorial I posted a while back, you can delete stuff like other language stuff in the file apparently. It's on GBATemp.net, some good tutorials stickied.

DOOD - kakaku ! or Aki :
get one of the cheaper ones of these (mine was 480 yen)
http://akiba.kakaku.com/pc/0806/05/190000.php
then pick up multiple MicroSD's ...
http://kakaku.com/item/00529911233/
2,889 yen for EIGHT GIG.
for that 30k, you could pick up EIGHTY GIG of capacity for the same price as 16 gig.
it's my birthday next month

Found some adapters there. Also Newegg is pretty cheap for MicroSD cards.
-
I've heard that using an adapter like that effects the speed of accessing the stick, have you guys noticed any problems?
-
All you need is like four gigs because thats enough to fit the best games on PSP - HSG, MLB 08, Gitaroo Man.
