More colors? So we won't get that dithering effect seen in so many games?
I want to buy a PSP soon.
Is it worth waiting for the 3000 model?
They did say that the PSP screen will have less glare in direct sunlight.
Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune PS3 Bundle with 160GB PS3 System
The 160GB PS3 system announced at the GC will be available here as part of a new limited-edition bundle that includes the hardware, Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune game, a PLAYSTATION Network voucher for PAIN, and a DUALSHOCK 3 wireless controller. We’re hearing from a lot of you that more PS3 storage space is important, particularly since the launch of our video delivery service, and this new model delivers more memory and a whole lot of content packed-in. The 160GB PS3 has all of the same functionality as the new 80GB PS3 that’s popping up on retailer shelves now, but obviously has twice the HDD space, so you can build levels to your heart’s content in LittleBigPlanet, download a ton of videos, and still have room for your entire music collection. The Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune 160GB PS3 bundle launches in November for $499.99 (MSRP).
My watch has a sapphire glass and it DOESN'T FUCKING scratch. After 5 years of usage I have exactly 0 scratches on the glass while the metal band is scratched as hell.
I suppose handhelds don't incorporate sapphire glass screens, do they?
-- PAIN PLAYSTATION Network Voucher* -- PAIN boldly tackles a rarely explored area of video-gaming ... comedy. The unique mechanic of the game allows the player to load a character into a human-sized, ultra-powerful slingshot, and fire the character into an active, physics-controlled environment, filled with precarious and humorous situations. Download PAIN from PLAYSTATION Store (http://store.playstation.com) to your PS3 system with the included voucher.

Warhawk™: Operation: Fallen Star expansion pack
The third expansion pack for mighty online warfare title Warhawk, Operation: Fallen Star introduces the remote, forested Tau Crater – the site of a crashed Chernovan warship containing invaluable experimental technology. With the Chernovans trying desperately to salvage the ship, the Eucadians have arrived with a view to stealing it for themselves. This pack brings ten new battlefields to the Warhawk experience – as well as the Infantry Jetpack – a personal rocket pack that allows soldiers to soar above the fray of battle into the aerial realm of the Warhawks themselves.
Why couldn't they just put it between the handles like the 360 one?
How the fuck am I supposed to type with that?
now that's an announcement, i always wanted a cool rocketeer game
well, i'm out another two hundred

Don't you have like 4 another PSPs?
What's in this new model that pushes you to get one? I don't get it.

I'm still trying to figure that one out.now that's an announcement, i always wanted a cool rocketeer game
Jetpacks in almost anything are good. Also, if you want a Rocketeer game, check out Dark Void.
Where are y'all getting the $650 from?
I'm generally a sucker and will buy hardware updates, but uh...this doesn't seem like enough to bother with this time around. Guess I need to see some screens of what makes the screen better.
I wonder if the real reason this is coming out is because they found some new way to prevent them from being moddable?
http://www.viddler.com/explore/Joystiq/videos/23/looks awesome. might get me back into warhawk
Warhawk trailer that shows of Jetpacks.
It seems like they are more just for hovering. Still cool and all, but I wanted Dark Void style flying with them.
They just don't get it!still selling more than the 360! ba-dum psh!
The system is selling like shit because its so expensive.
Adding more stuff no one but a select few care about and raising the price will do sweet fuck all.
So this doesn't have BC.
Meh. :-\

that's a little better, but a $350 system with a pack-in was where they needed to goqft
psp-3000 : will wait for verdict and pandora report"sony fans" are the ones failing to grasp that? :lol
Ps3 : i think what sony fans fail to grasp is that when Sony are "we are working on bringing the cost of components down" this means "phew, thank god for that, we can now finally make some profits off this damned thing" not "$299 PS3 in a few months! We loves to bleed for ya!"
in other news, I see some people are already linking the larger drive to PS2 downloadable games! oh my, that's quite something.
:lol @ the keyboard,
in a stupid spot
requires CHARGING
epid fail
i'm trying to imagine using the keyboard - erm... can you actually user it whilst holding the controller?!i'm imagining a slight shift of your hand position, but nothing crazy different about how you hold it.
seems like thumb usage would be straight out.
i cant believe you can easily reach those numbers with thumbs.
how does the mouse touch pad thing work? that sounds cool.
i'd probably buy a few games that way
i have a 60 gig, but if it ever shits the bed down the line i might be screwed
Quotethere's no way they're going to let the possibility of easy download dollars completely pass them by, though
well, given the painfully slow approach to PS1 classics under PSN outside of Japan, i am inclined to be sceptical.
It should be easy dollars, but there doesn't seem to be any urgency.Quotei have a 60 gig, but if it ever shits the bed down the line i might be screwed
as long as your purchase list remains, you can always redownload.

i skipped the slim, will pick this up on announcement of hack
Video-Out has also been enhanced, with the system now able to interlace for televisions that don't support a progressive output (that means non-HDTVs).
Another new feature on the new PSP I just found out is that video out supports both HDTVs and SDTVs now for gameplay.QuoteVideo-Out has also been enhanced, with the system now able to interlace for televisions that don't support a progressive output (that means non-HDTVs).

QuoteThat's how it should have been in the first place! Still not enough of a reason to upgrade though.
this was hacked into the -current- slim ages ago.
CFM coders >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> sony.
As for the merit “of PSP-3000”, it could add to display improvement, being clear with the improvement of contrast, and the actualization of wide color gamut besides the fact that it can draw natural image, we raised also speed of response, the drawing whose being off-center is little became possible. In addition, you say that by the fact that reflected decrease technology is adopted it has become easy to see even at the bright place. As for size of display differing from so far 4.3 inches.
QuoteDetails?? I haven't updated my CFW in AGES. Does this work for games now or just emulators?
i think it's everything.
it'll be in pspupdates.qj.net somewhere - it's a firmware plug in i think.
http://foosa.do.am/
there you go.
Slim and Lite only.
Compared to the PSP-2000, the new 3000 model has twice the color gamut, five times the contrast ratio and, what we're most excited about, is twice the response time.

fap fap fap fap fap fap fap
is it hackable?
etc... etc...
There's no way that picture is taken legit, there must be some tricks at work or something to make the old version look worse.
If that is a real legit pic tho...damn. How does it compare to the Slim?
I hope that increased contrast is not just due to new LCD but also a glass screen. Also, why won't Sony change the analog stick more dratiscally? Every PSP owner I know thinks the nub sucks.
not sure how impressive the new shot is - certainly not as "oh my" as the Strawberries picture, then again - doesn't look like the best photo in the world.
I guess we'll see this at TGS ... or is this due to hit before then?
A second nub that can change function between D-pad control, left nub, or face buttons would already be a tremendous help. I am actually still waiting for consoles/handhelds to give you the option to change controls based in the hardware menu to how you want, basically like how a PC does it.good idea
I really hope the new one is hackable.
In Japan, PSP seems to the machine which is finally waking people up to network gaming. The hook seems to be that it's less threatening to play with people in the same room as you - all the ads for Monster Hunter etc show happy people in various social situations whipping out their PSPs for a lengthy epic loot raid. All is co-op, all is "no, no, YOU take the armour".
The response time has doubled in speed and will help eliminate ghosting or blurring during gameplay and video playback.
The vivid, ghost-free screen does draw more power than the old screen. John Koller, Sony director of hardware marketing told GameSpot that the new screen will reduce battery life by "about 20 minutes."
The silver PSP will be available first, on October 14, 2008, in a $199 Ratchet & Clank Entertainment Pack. The package will include a silver PSP-3000, a Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters UMD game, a National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets UMD movie, a PlayStation Network download voucher for Echochrome, and a 1GB Memory Stick Pro Duo. The black PSP will ship in November in a $199 PSP 4GB Memory Entertainment Pack that includes the black PSP-3000, a 4GB Memory Stick Pro Duo, and a PlayStation Network download voucher for Everyday Shooter. The black PSP-3000 will also make it into the basic PSP Core Pack, priced at $169, sometime later this year.
