I'll tell you what I'm not playing, Eternal Sonata. I finished it last night and jesus fucking satan, I can see why people hated it. Forced, meaningless fetch quests, overly bland characters, a plot that moves at a snails pace, a combat system that could've been interesting but is completely repetitive and shallow, a pretentious plot that turns into an utter, convoluted mess in the end, and the worst boss gauntlet ever created in an RPG. I'm sure the voices were annoying as well with all the kids present but I turned those off to make the game less painful (I think I'm going to start doing that from now on with my jrpgs).
Shame, as the game has some really good looking environments and some good music. The idea of playing a game through the mind of someone's dying moments could've been cool but is turned into a completely useless plot point. Thankfully I'm done with it and now can move onto better things like:
Bionic Commando Rearmed and NES- Playing through the hard mode in Rearmed along with the NES version.
Galaga Legions- The more I play it the more I like it. One of the most unique shooters I've played in years.
Probably Mass Effect- I have a save file near the end in which I never finished. I got burnt out by amazingly designed side quests.
Final Fantasy PSP- Still trekking through with my three white mages with one life. I will probably be done this weekend.
and maybe some more Angband...maybe
I'm also looking for suggestions on another masochist like run. I'm thinking about doing Twilight Princess with 3 hearts and one life. Wasn't a big fan of the game the first time around and have been wanting to give it another chance.
-
-Ratchet QFB (even though I'll probably finish it tonight)
-Probably Viva Pinata
-Maybe Fable 1
-BCR I hope

Someone help me decide my priorities:
WoW
-Level my 30 Rogue as fast as I can to get to endgame before WotLK comes out so I can fuck Arthas in the bum.
-Level my 11 Druid as fast as I can so I can get to endgame before WotLK comes out etc. etc.
-Reroll again and make a thread for another EB WoW guild that doesn't suck dick
Warcraft III
-Play and beat both RoC and Frozen Throne before WotLK so I can familiarize myself with all the lore and throwbacks there are sure to be.
Diablo II
-Play and beat Diablo II and LoD so I can get ready for D3 whenever it ends up coming out.
I CAN'T DECIDE.
-
finishing up the challenge rooms in bionic commando. then i'll prolly buy galaga legions
-
Prob playing some WoW tonight.
Not going to be able to game much until next weekend.

That reminds me, I need to go back and beat Titan Quest one of these days. Wish I still had my save file.
-
Playing some TF2 probably. I'm done with the heavy for a while since I've got all the Heavy unlocks, so I might go back and try to pick up some more Pyro and Medic achievements.
Also, I'm replaying the Half-Life series. I played about a third of the way through Half-Life 1 last night, and when I get through with that I want to play through Blue Shift and Opposing Force.
-
war
pretty damn awesome so far. it makes the "battlegrounds" thing quite enjoyable

You can probably skip Opposing Force. The first third is great but later on the game basically becomes Duke Nukem, which is pathetic. Blue Shift is a must, though.

I played a DVD on my PS2, does that count?
Out of Sight. Love that movie.
-
AV, is QFB worth it?
On topic, tho.
Playing Bionic Commando.
-
I'm a huge Ratchet fan, I have all of the console versions and I got a PS3 in time to day 1 ToD.
I really can't recommend QFB to anyone. It's got to be sub 3 hours, there are like 3-4 things to do in 3 repeated environments. GUns are just handed to you at random for free. There is no need for bolts because there are no ammo shops and you buy like 2 things int he whole game. The actual gameplay is really rough and glitchy for some reason. There is zero replay value. It's even shorter than you probably expect it to be and it really feels it.
AFAIK you can't even change your triangle menu weapon layout.
Just replay ToD.
-
I haven't hooked up my Wii or 360 since I came back from Canada and I'm stuck in Etrian Odyssey. Also, I keep falling asleep at the beginning of Apollo Justice. :(
I think I'm gonna try that ROTK XI demo.
-
all warhammer online, all weekend. I leveled to 11 via just RvR today, so much fun.
-
Got sucked back into the PC version of Dark Messiah of Might and Magic. I love the combat in this game. :D
Deleted my WoW character. I think I'm over MMO's for now.
-
I'ma' try my hand at Tales of the Abyss. Haven't played a console Tales game in years.
-
I finally found a copy of Too Human, so I'll be playing through that and hopefully finishing off Fable: The Lost Chapters.
I am thinking about picking up Rogue Galaxy with the 25% off used coupon at Gamestop.
-
lost odyssey
i was going to wait for the fall update before diving back into the game but i need to finish some of these damned rpgs before i get more of em!
-
FFIV DS: Enjoying it a lot even though I hate the shitty DS 3D.
RA3 Beta: If it ever finishes downloading.

I would agree with this for the most part. I enjoyed it all that, but I can't really recommend it to others for $15.

The Simpsons Game on the 360. I'm actually liking it alot more than I thought I would and it's probably the funniest The Simpsons has been in 10 years. It actually got me to laugh out loud a few times.
-
gonna finish up Bionic Commando and then go at it again on super hard because i am super hard
-
Played a lot of CoH last night (mostly getting my ass handed to me) then I played a game of RA3 and handed someone their ass. I then finished off the night with some TF2. Today I'm definitely going to play more CoH and TF2 and probably some RA3 as well. IDK, it's kind of hard to be impressed with an RTS like RA3 after playing an amaaaaaaazing one like CoH. We'll see.

Wild Arms 3... finally busted open the shrinkwrap on the game, that I got for Christmas 2002. Just played the 4 characters' openings so far, and I'm really liking a LOT about it so far... aside from the world map. Too many encounters on the world map. What's the general consensus on this game?
-
Soul Calibur 4. At the last floor of the tower. Been close a few times to winning, but not quite there.
Too Human. Co-op is where its at, I'm telling ya. Just make sure you're both the same level.
Age of Conan. Burnout approaching! Uninstall imminent! Heh, well maybe not quite that bad, but the world in that game is getting nastier and nastier. I'm less motivated to play than ever.

It's lame

i like it but like you said, the encounters are annoying on the world map and you have to search for towns which is more lame.
some puzzles are hard too and the graphics are bad.

Just Diablo 2 and a bit of Madden.

Yeah I thought it was pretty underwhelming (although it was less than a 3.2GB download). Played + finished this morning, didn't mind the length because the level design was uninspired and repetitive. The wrench stuff wasn't really fun, and the way they integrated it makes me think it's just going to be used in the next game as a device to frustrate players while platforming, and not as a way to have new and interesting types of puzzles and broaden the gameplay (although it was used in a shadow-casting "puzzle" I thought was cute). I would have liked it if, instead of adding this additional "task" into platforming they pared it down, allowed the player to retain control of the camera, and just made platforming more challenging in its own right. All in all I have to agree, it felt janky and wasn't really worth playing.
-
I loved WA3, 4 even tho it shoulda been called Wild Arms Raquel
-
Hey, MAF, how's Titan Quest in MP mode? I'm thinking about giving another go but this time in co-op.
-
(http://www.tothegame.com/res/game/5108/boxshot_us_large.jpg)
I'm liking it so far.
Not as good as Shenmue, though.
-
I wish I was good at games, to get 1000/1000 or even 200/200.
I have like 195/200 in Time Pilot though :(
-
I'd have 200/200 in Mr. Driller Online if there were enough people still playing online to get a 4 player match going. :maf
-
Wait Mr Diller came out?

Lol some months ago.

I decided to continue my slow completion of Stranglehold, but I had to stop at that stupid ass boss with all the explosives. That boss fight is bullshit. It doesn't help that I shoot this guy 16 time with a golden gun and his health barely moves, yet I walk near a laser wire and I die instantly.

You can deal out only so much damage to that boss in each segment so don't bother trying to shoot him too many times in a row. I found that out the hard way.

yeah what smooth said. The boss is actually cake once you have your route sorted. Although I did beat the game on Hard Boiled so Im really, really good at Stranglehold

I had to bring the copy of The Simpsons Game back to Blockbuster because the disc was all scratched to hell and my 360 couldn't read it. I asked for a different one and even though they had 3 other copies, they were currently checked out (WTF?). So seeing how the game is so short and easy, I thought I'd give it a go on the PS3. Shouldn't take me very long to get back to where I was.
I don't know if my eyes are playing tricks on me or what but I was kind of struck how there doesn't appear to be any AA on the PS3 version. Either that or it's running at a somewhat lower res than the 360 game. It's not as noticable as GTA4 but there definitely appears to be a hell of a lot more shimmering on the PS3.
*listens outside*
omfg my neighbors are blasting some sort of country gospel music at their backyard hootenany. Strike them down Jesus. You don't need these fuckers on your side.
-
I bought Geometry Wars II and played the crap out of it for 2 straight hours, an eternity for me these days. Was unable to top the Evolved score that I got at Sho Nuff's place tho (currently his high score!) :maf
-
The Club
Me too. :hump
I'm still not very far into it though - finding all the secret skulls and doing it on all difficulties as I go means I'm progressing slowly. I'm loving it though.
-
I'll finish Stranglehold one day, but not today. I ended up playing Jungle Beat (and I just found out there are platinum medals...wtf) and Pursuit Force 2.
I really want a Pursuit Force on PSN now. The writing is just superb with lines like "We don't know what powers inbreeding gave them!"
-
I crammed in like 200 gamerpoints in The Club yesterday, I'm done with it for a few more weeks. Now I'm starting Stranglehold, I need 395 to clear my friend's score.
-
Im at like 825 in DW Gundam, a few hours from 900, then another few to the final 100. Not sure if I wanna play more tonight or just save it for later.
-
I want my 360 version of Simpsons back. :(
It's not the same without achievements. Seriously.
-
I forgot how freaking jerky Mass Effect was. The game jumps and stutters like every second.

360 or PC? The newest Nvidia drivers make everything smoother and physics effects are improved as well.

360 version. I just quit playing after my vehicle got caught on a edge of a platform and couldn't move, get my characters out of it or hover away. It just stayed stuck while the Geth had their merry time with it. Then when I died and resumed I found I had to rebuy all my equipment and suffer talking to all the same NPC's again. :maf
Meh, back to Bionic Commando for me.
-
ONE MORE CAMPAIGN. Fuckin Kamille's Original last mission was actually a little hard thanks to freakin 2x super charged zone healing Quattro
-
I'm finishing up Too Human. Not going to bother grinding for epic gear.
-
Ratchet and Clank Up Your Arsenal
Zone of the Enders 2
-
Played more Soul Calibur IV, as usual. Before SC4, my mains were Taki and Seong Mina. Now it's Taki and Cassandra, but I am thinking of taking up Ivy too. Need some sausage up in here, so after I feel more comfortable with those I am gonna try either Maxi or Yun Sung.
Also some Street Fighter IV. This was one Chun-Li player was being such a cheap fuck, but for a high-level dude he SUCKED. I got close to killing him every round (we both had no life left), but he kept winning overall. I kept laughing, (SF4 is linked, so in this arcade with 8 machines, you can play against anyone on any machine) and my wife said he kept looking over at me with this disturbed look on his face. The guy looked like a 40 year old who still lived with his parents and just rolled out of bed at 3pm.
At another arcade, no one was playing it. The game attendant said "YOUNG people don't play this game. It's the sequel to this one (points to SF2 despite the SF3 cab next to it, LOL) so they don't care." And she was right...they were all playing Melty Blood and Guilty Gear.
-
I was looking through the used games I bought a few weeks ago and decided to play (and actually finish) Psychonauts this time around, but after an hour, I could barely take this. I used to be able to handle things that border on mediocrity and badness a whole lot better years ago.
-
Psychonauts doesn't really start to kick in gear until you finish the levitation class. After that it's freakin' brilliant the rest of the way....that is until you hit the meat circus.
-
Got sucked back into the PC version of Dark Messiah of Might and Magic. I love the combat in this game. :D

Hey look, a perfect description of Psychonauts.
