In before "bu bu bu the guy who wrote/directed Jersey Girl and said Revenge of the Sith was like the great tragedies of literature [Kevin Smith] says the new one is amazing!"
-
Two words: Ear Bugs
-
The following Trek films are awesome:
Wrath of Khan
Voyage Home
Undiscovered Country (hells yes)
First Contact (my personal favorite)
The rest you can go take a piss on.
I'm about 50% excited about the new film (JJ Abrams, Michael Giaccino) and 50% worried (Kobayashi Maru bullshit)
-
Yea, First Contact is fucking rock solid.
-
Yeah, First Contact is fun. Undiscovered Country is solid.
:lol @ The Voyage Home, though!
-
I dont know shit about ST. Never watched an episode of any of the series, never watched a full movie. I saw half of Khan a while back and it was pretty campy, but still fun. Never got motivated to see the ending though, nor any of the other ST work.
-
This is why we hate you, Solo.
-
I watched some Next Generation with my dad when I was a kid, and I think I've seen one movie (First Contact?). I also have seen my dad watching some of the other series, like Deep Space Nine and whatnot. I guess I know enough to be dangerous. Don't really care to watch anymore.
-
Space shit in general doesnt ring my bells, be it TV or movies. Never got into ST, think the SW movies are woefully overrated, etc.
-
first contact, you surly hebe bastard
-
Was First Contact the one where they discover FTL travel? Or they go back to when that happened? I think that's the one I saw.
Solo, I'm a huge fan of space stuff, but Star Trek doesn't stand out all that much, I guess.
-
Undiscovered Country > Wrath of Kahn IMO. Granted, Kahn had a bitchin set of tits

Yup. FC is my favorite Trek movie as well although I've only watched several of them. It's like the only that is not boring. Even then, it's not that great the 2nd time.
-
Star Trek is fucking awesome. I fully embrace my inner-nerd.
Mondays rock because Next Generation is on all night on Sci-Fi.
Every weekday rocks because Voyager is on when I get home from work.
Star Trek rocks my socks.

Didnt you cum over Mass Effect?

Star Trek: The Motion Picture is pretty good too, even if it is more of a 2001-Lite than Star Trek.
-
The Voyage Home was an awesome comedy.

Had no idea you were a fan of Trek, Ecro.
But still, Voyager? Eww.

Yep, I enjoy Voyager.
I've never seen Enterprise though, and I wish I did.
-
Voyager was fun, Year of Hell is classic shit.
I actually bought the Time Travel star trek DVD collection just for Year of Hell.
-
Because it has actual characterization instead of being a parody of the old crew, and has a meaningful ending. Whether or not the depth of that meaning is destroyed by the following film is arguable, but like Aliens and Alien^3, I just choose to ignore the existence of the sequel's sequel.
-
Undiscovered Country nignog!
-
Wrath of Khan had a strong villain, competent directing, and characters that you actually cared about, regardless of whether you had previous knowledge of the Star Trek universe.
-
I dunno, knowing about KHAN might have added to the movie. Maybe. Or maybe just knowing about his fabulous breasts.
I still say Undiscovered Country is the ultimate, with First Contact close behind.
-
Wrath of Khan and First Contact are the only two I really like.
Wrath was actually my first introduction to Star Trek too.
-
You need to see Undiscovered Country
-
Undiscovered Country and Generations are the two I haven't seen. I was planning on going on a Star Trek binge within the next few months to get more hyped for the new movie.
-
Generations sux :(
-
Yeah, that's what I've heard :\
-
Undiscovered Country is a must-see, it's a great farewell to the old crew. Generations was blah, they should have just left Kirk in his grave. Other than First Contact, all the of the TNG movies were pretty bad.
-
Nemesis was as close to 'good' as it was going to get after the awesome First Contact. Insurrection was omg awful Picard love story
-
Nemesis was still pretty lame though, with the OMG PICARD CLONE and then Data dies but oh how fortunate they were able to find another android that looks just like him the day before. ::) Insurrection reminds me of the some of the dodgy later episodes of the series, like the one where Dr. Crusher goes home to her ancestral mansion and falls in love with the ghost of her grandmother's lover.
-
Generations is kind of cool because it has Picard and Kirk working together at the end.
Insurrection was kind of cool because had Picard and Data singing.
Nemesis was kind of cool because it had Picard, Data, and Worf riding around in a dune buggy on a desert planet.
But neither of them were all that good.

I like watching ship battles, and nemesis had more than generations and insurrection

Another valuable contribution to a thread you PROBABLY don't belong in
-
NEMESIS is just about the biggest piece of crap in The Next Generation continuity. All of the Next Gen movies are guilty of centering on Picard and Data instead of dealing with the ensemble; sure Stewart and Spiner are the best actors of the group, but I really want to see more about the whole crew and their ongoing journey.
But beyond that, they couldn't just focus on how great Picard is, they had to clone him to reinforce to the audience how critical he is to the universe AND operate as a foil for the real Picard... hell, they even "cloned" Data by the end of the movie as well. I also recall there was a pretty dirt simple solution to avoid Data's sacrifice involving the transporter badge, but I'll be damned if I'm willing to watch the movie again to refresh my memory.

FUCK Nemesis. God, that fucking movie sucks a dick.

Nemesis > Insurrection
if you say otherwise you are DUMB
-

Didnt you cum over Mass Effect?
I did. But games are a lesser form of entertainment than movies, so I can accept a lesser setting!
-
Nemesis > Insurrection

Definitely, although that's not saying a whole lot.
-
Which one had time traveling space whales?
IV
And the one with god?
V
It also had Grandma Uhura doing her erotic fan dance. :drool

Can you imagine being on the set the day they shot that? I bet the run up to the day of the shoot there must have been a betting pool on whether or not the scene was written in as a joke.
