Title: I got to play street fighter 4

summary: it owns. this is definitely SF4 from the little bit I played. All worries that the game is some dumbed down piece of shit are dead. Play the game if you have the chance.

the game isn't even ugly when you see it up close, it's fucking beautiful.

unfortunately, I only got to play for just a few minutes but what I played was fucking impressive. I played as Ryu and the new chick with the purple-ish hair.

when does this get a console release so i can snatch this baby up and capcom's official 360 pad?

The 360 HRAP? That's almost impossible to find. I'm just going to wait for arcadeinabox to come up with a stick that works for PC/PS2/PS3/360. It'd probably be expensive but all the cheap joysticks I own, add up to about the same cost anyways.

Same here. I was initially worried about the game when I first saw it. It looked too much like Street Fighter II, character art was too bulky, the color pallette leaned too much on the orange side, and it was 3d. While these are still a factor, the more I see of the game and the more I hear about it it does makes me think I will enjoy it very much. Maybe when the inevitable reiterations come out they will change up the visual style to where it's less orangey.

Nah, hardcore gamers like our resident achievements champ can handle anything with an analog stick.

No, it's not. It feels more like a cross between Super Turbo and Third Strike, minus parries and with the revenge system added in place of them. You can still do EX attacks as well, which can be particularly SICK with certain characters (Zangief's SPD and Chun-Li's lighting leg and SBK, HOLY SHIT).

Really what lessens the excitement for this game is its roster. It's the original 12 "same ol'" characters (with some new normal attacks), plus four new ones that just don't compare. I think Abel is really cool, and C. Viper is okay design-wise, but El Fuerte and Rufus just suck. Most of the time I play, it's against Ryu users doing the same old shit combined with the revenge tactics (this can really change up the game play) and ultras.

I love the game, but frankly all the other new fighters that came out/are coming out this year are more exciting. I am looking more forward to Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom, and much more so than that, KOF XII. SF4 is great but needed more new faces.

I wouldn't be surprised if it hits in December of this year.

But this is Capcom USA's game sorta-kinda, so maybe it will hit the U.S. first? And maybe SF2 HD Remix will be out by then. MAYBE. :lol

I didn't mean gameplay wise. I agree it's definitely worthy of the name Street Fighter IV, but like you said, the roster isn't that hot and it just reeks of SF2 fanservice. I'm not even sure if that's a good or bad thing, but the game rocks so who cares.
