After setting the record for a production sedan around the 'ring (beating M5 by 14 seconds), we now have more performance figures:
http://www.leftlanenews.com/first-performance-test-proves-cadillac-cts-v-is-a-bmw-m5-killer.html
The results were phenomenal. The sprint to 60 took just 4.6 seconds while the CTS-V passed the quarter-mile mark in just 12.5 seconds – besting both the BMW M5 and Mercedes-Benz E63 by .2 seconds.
The CTS-V’s brakes were equally impressive, slowing the sedan down from 60 in a mere 109 feet – 5 and 6 feet better, respectively, than the M5 and E63.
And although American automobiles usually fall short of their European counterparts in the handling department, the CTS-V didn’t let the Stars and Stripes down. The Caddy managed to pull .92g on the skid pad and its 71.1 mph slalom run bested both the M5 (68.5 mph) and the E63 (65 mph).
All in all, the CTS-V’s performance numbers are quite impressive. However, with BMW reportedly developing a turbocharged version of its M5, we’re quite sure we haven’t heard the last in the super sedan wars.
Leftlane has already spent some time behind the wheel of the CTS-V and while we won’t break GM’s press embargo with our opinions, we will strongly recommend you check back here on Sept. 24 for our full review of Cadillac’s highly-anticipated M5 slayer.

oh shit. if I got another sedan, it would have to be a powerful fucker still. I can't go back to driving a 2.0 4 cylinder :'(
-
It's still a Cadillac though. :usacry
I'd still get the BMW or Mercedes.
:heartbeat Euro automobiles :heartbeat

It looks ugly and needs a longhorn hood ornament
-
That's an ugly car dude.
If Alfa Romeo made a car was actually as good as it looks :drool

It takes a great deal of cognitive dissonance to say that the world record holder for a lap around Nürburgring is more like an 80s boat than a BMW.
-
It's like someone took a chisel to dried up shit and the CTS-V was born.
-
All these high performance cars are overwrought and in your face, people are paying a $30k+ premium and don't want it to look exactly like the base car.
The normal CTS is a great, well-balanced design.

Look at that lower fascia. CTS-V isn't gorgeous but it's the best car in its class, let's see if the new M5 can top it in 2 or 3 years or whenever.
Or this:

Performance speaks for itself.

Yes I do realize
-
Sure is.
It seems like everyone is trying so hard to get away from the other guys visually that they will slather all kinds of extra shit on their car just so it stands out.
One brand that i felt stood against that was Volvo, but they threw it in the dumpster:

The fuck

High end automobiles aren't just about performance. Porsche owners know that there are faster cars out there for lower prices but they still prefer Porsches because of how they look and feel.
Track times and acceleration figures just don't reveal how enjoyable a car is to drive.

Basically it's wank factor.

Porsches are truly amazing to drive though.

Hehe. That's just the XC60 Concept. The production model doesn't look nearly as flamboyant in person
