Title: Good Old Games-Classic PC games for cheap!
Post by: originalz on September 05, 2008, 04:00:09 AM
I saw this linked elsewhere: http://www.gog.com/en/intro

Essentially what it is is this:
-CDProjekt is selling what they call "good old games" in digital form. Things like Freespace 2, Fallout, etc.
-They are updating these games so that they will all work perfectly under Vista or XP.
-You'll get bonus content for a game when you buy it (stuff like wallpapers)
-They'll be priced from $5.99-$9.99
-No DRM. No need to be online to play them. Unlimited re-downloads.

I think this sounds awesome.  You can sign up for the "beta" before this weekend, and if you buy a game during that, you get one for free!

Sacrifice > Giants

That's pretty harsh.  Both games are unequaled.

I already have Fallout 1 but it's kind of loopy on Vista, so I'll probably get that and Tactics to start off with.

Did you try any of the unofficial patches? I have it on my laptop, and I haven't had any problems with it.

I played around with some patches but it still gave my problems, mainly that the screen would go completely black every few seconds. I could fix it by moving the mouse around a bit, but it would just happen again. I think it might by some incompatibility with my graphics card or something. Never had this problem with the second game, though.
