What. This is a great sitcom pilot, even if the jokes are a little tired. But this is an ad for Shoe Circus, not Vista. Some sly ad guy is going, "HA. SEE WHAT WE DID THERE. We didn't even mention the product!". If I saw this on TV, I'd have no idea what it was an ad for. I'd think American Express, ala J Seinfeld.
Look, Msoft, here's the rub: 90% of your users are using your software because they have to. It came preinstalled, it's on their work machine, it's on their phone. You don't have to be a nice guy. In fact, I'll never think of you as a nice guy. Instead of trying to be all buddy buddy with me, tell me all about how great your software is so I don't feel so BEGRUDGED to be using it. I'll never like it, but I could respect it. So quit with the celebs and the funny commercials and turn my resentment into respect.

Sing it, sister! Oh wait, you aren't representative of a large majority of the user base!

I'm likin' Vista on my new laptop. I know the internet is wanting me to hate it, but I just can't. No complaints here.
-
This is one of the best commercials I have seen on American TV (The Dragon Ball DS one takes the overall category) in a long time. I still think the it would have been better without the end as they are leaving the mall; other than that it is brilliant.

Wait what. It's a failure on every level.
-
What, is, the DEAL, with that ad?

Here's a much better quality version. Clearer picture and not 2 frames per second.

I STILL HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THIS IS AN AD FOR
-
Churos?
-
Churos?
Shoe Circus.
-
delicious
-
Its an ad for delicious
-
Churros are delicious. How can we be so sure it wasn't for churros?
-
Wait what. It's a failure on every level.
It is amazing. I will probably buy a Zune now, and burn my iPod Touch. This is how you do a proper commercial.
-
All hail Zune!
-
Vista with SP1 is no longer a failure. But man...vista has to be the biggest disappointment among major software releases in recent memory.
1.2 GB RAM occupied and 40% of a C2D 2Ghz occupied - on a brand new fucking laptop? Fucking drag.
And for the record, I'm a MAC ads are all propaganda but at least they're iconic and creative and sometimes even funny. which is more than you can say for this PS3-thisisliving-caliber ad.
-
do a clean install, vista never takes up more than 600 MB RAM on my laptop(s) and main pc
-
well it's a little to late for that now
and why shouyld that even be required? it's crazy that you would need to go through that step. most people don't know - nor care for - tweaking with their comps like that.
and they are who this ad is aiming for.
-
This ad is to make Microsoft just 'one of the guys' as their internal research probably found out people hate Microsoft because it is Microsoft ie. humanize Microsoft.
-
This ad is aiming for people who don't need bright little men on the TV to tell you how to live your life. Not once in that ad did they condemn you for making a choice, and they actually encouraged it. WITH MICROSOFT YOU CAN HAVE YOUR CAKE AND EAT IT TO.
-
Nauseating
-
Just some SCC. MS trying to tackle their image problems... lol...
*starfox goodluck*
-
I enjoyed it. Taken for what it was, without looking for the underlying corportate motives, it was a good laugh.
But then, I laugh at people vomiting.
-
I liked the Ad.
It's not an amazing Ad, but it's kinda funny in the Seinfeld way. I think it's impossible to hate the Ad unless you've made it a mission to hate Microsoft.
At max, you become indifferent, but if this actually affects you in a negative way, dude you need your priorities in life checked.
Apple Ads are no better than this, and i'm still trying to figure out the bat shit insane Apple fanboys that revere Steve Jobs, jesus christ, get a motherfucking life.
Oh and i have vista 64 bits, i thought it was gonna be shit because of all the haters, guess what, fuck the haters, this OS is fucking great. Hey maybe only get Vista if you have the optimal PC for it? Why the fuck would you want vista in your meant for XP shitty ass PC? Fuck you.
