I'm not to sure because he was under my moms bed and it was dark but I think he might of gotten a very small bone and ate it. I tried to reach under the bed and take it away but he bit me a little bit and I pulled my hand back in fear that he would break skin.
My dog is going to die isn't he? I should of been watching him but normally he'll stray away from food that isn't in his bowl of fed to him. I'm an awful owner.
-
nah it should be fine if it doesn't choke
-
OR IT MAY GET A TASTE FOR IT AND COME AFTER YOUR BONES NEXT?
-
Should be fine if it doesn't gets caught in its throat/cuts it.
-
i'm serious
aside from the off chance of it choking or gettingit's throat torn up, it should be fine
i had a dog who got into some bones and it just threw them up after the fact.

The problem is the stomach guys. It can perforate his stomache.
My dog once ate a broken chicken bone (the worst you can wish for, it already comes with spikes), but he survived, nothing happened. He's a Rottweiler though, who knows what goes inside that thing.
-
Yeah, as long as he's not choking now he's likely not going to. As noted above though the bone could hurt his stomach, especially since he's a smaller dog. He's not gonna go out and shit the bone out any time today. What you need to do is watch him like a hawk when he's shitting to make sure there's no blood in his poop. If there is, you need to rush him to the vet. Also, if he starts acting like he's in pain for no reason, or is suddenly listless and not active, rush him to the vet.
In the future, UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES GIVE OR LET YOUR DOG GET A BONE. Make sure other family members know this too.
-
They are a potential hazard. Best you can do is keep an eye on him - how big was the piece of bone? If it was very small there's a better chance he'll pass it with no damage, but it'll take a few hours to go through.
-
Have you posted pictures of the dog yet.
-
my dog used to sneaks chicken bones from the garbage whenever we have wings
:(
-
You have an office?
-
Stop him from shitting in your office by restricting his access to it. That's an easy solution but then he'll likely start shitting elsewhere in the house.
You need to take him out at regular intervals and as soon as he squats down say "go shit!" or something and as soon as he's done, reward him with a treat. A week or so of that will nip it in the bud.
-
I agree with Card Cheat. You'll have to watch him like a hawk. If you can't watch him for a period, it's best to put him in the laundry or somewhere where he's allowed to crap.
When I was toilet training my dog I was working at home. I would put him on his lead and tie it under the table so he couldn't sneak off somewhere and crap. I took him out at regular intervals. It worked well.
-
i hope he's ok :(
-
Your 16 and have an office. Boy i feel like an idiot at 26.
anyways. How big were they? My golden retriever ate some buffalo wing bones a couple of years ago and was fine.
Is your dog acting strange? slower? Showing signs of pain discomfort? If so go to a vet, if not then it should be ok
-
I'd get him to a vet if he shows any signs of discomfort or is acting strange at all. The problem with cooked bones, especially chicken bones, is that they can splinter and rupture the insides.
That said, I KNOW my dog used to get into the garbage and get chicken bones, and he was always okay. The only time he ever needed veterinary attention from eating garbage was when he ate the string that comes on a piece of porketta and it got stuck in his intestines.
-
good job killing your dog, asshole. God some people are so irresponsible.
-
He'll probably be just fine.

Dogs are amazingly resilient. The only time we had to take a dog to the vet for eating something was when one of our dogs ate a heap of sand. You have to wonder what he was thinking there...

If he starts doing something on the floor, you can try clapping really loud and making a lot of noise suddenly. It usually startles them and they stop.
-
but what if you scare them so much they poop quicker?!

You should've used your penis instead of your hand.
