Its coo, instead of watching videos they'll just get to know their new e-friends even more. Roundtable discussions about upcoming Sony games. On the negative, they won't be able to condition underage sfan recruits into bluetooth cybering with them by playing 30 second clips of a POV Tifa vid.

I've had the beta for over a year. It's boring.

SONY! Cancel this stupid thing and make more games, dammit.

Werent we supposed to be able to watch streaming porn of a tiny Bravia in Kittownys homespace? Now what will we do! Rawr

Home is easyly becoming the most overrated thing this entire generation

I think its amazing how Microsoft will beat Sony to the punch on home features with the new Xbox Experience. They cut all of the fluff, all of the waste of home and just gave people what they really needed. Avatars, Party system, Sharing movies/pictures, and some of the stupid casual shit.

None of this homespace, fluff garbage. Do you really want an Uncharted 2D game? Do you really want a Warhawk table top game when you can play the real shit?

Your skin doesn't crawl when you say "new xbox experience?"

ps cancel home

Nah its "I never knew Home had this feature"  ::)

Watching the new trailer for Home made me remember how confused I was about the purpose of home.  Cancel it and make a good more classic style interface to improve online gaming.

It sounds nicer than "new xbox dashboard"

I disagree.

It so does not. This is like the Game 3.0 shit except the Sfans are too browbeaten to act is the corrective. "New Xbox Experience" sounds like (and is) marketing drivel pushed by John Schappert right into our faces. Fuck that dude. I hate him.

Only real negative thing (other than calling it an 'experience') are those avatars.  You just know that 360 fans will be rocking them all the time...those aesthetically hideous things.

the proper attitude towards both home and 'the new xbox experience' is indifference faintly intermixed with pity for two megacorporations and their poor attempts at audience expansion

but in reality wollan and kittonwy will spend hours in their virtual living rooms not sharing videos while evilbore collectively discovers that miis were actually A REALLY COOL IDEA LOLZ I MADE HITLER GUYZ COME LOOK

lol - suck it up losers.... moar tissues?

pro tip : get angry at sony for being so terrible, it might actually be more productive than getting angry at MS for delivering consistantly ?

what are you prattling on about, dc? really, i think home is a shitty idea and i said it should be cancelled. i haven't said a word about the new xbox dashboard other than calling it the "new xbox experience" is absolutely ridiculous.

youuuuuuuuuuuu, sir, are misunderstanding me.

i'm not mad at sony...wtf. why would i be mad at sony? this type of emotional reaction/response to corporations is the same thing you rail against in 95% of your other nontroll posts. so that's like 4 or 5 posts.

The only interesting thing about Home is if Sony allows us to create an alt account -> Log into Home and start trolling the fuck out of people.

xfags will be playing games. there's a reason sonyers want a "social hub" and wiitards are making miis - they have no software.

i've seen pictures of your 360 shelf, and finding a good game on that thing probably does involve a bit of a wait

Home... the Final Frontier. These are the voyages of the sfagship PS3. Its ten-year mission: to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no bald man has gone before.

Borys wants Microsoft to buy Valve.

I can let the 9' 4:3 monitor and calling ME a good looking game slide, but saying that MS should buy valve? really, Borys? really?

If they would somehow partner with MS then STEAM would be unstoppable - the de facto standard of digital delivery system.

It already is. Even EA has finally come around and put Crysis on Steam.
Title: Re: Video Streaming not being implimented in "Home"
Post by: cool breeze on September 18, 2008, 05:55:31 PM
Microsofts way of handling PC gaming is horrible.  The last game they really pushed was Shadowrun with the cross system play, but since then the big announcement is "all those features you had to pay for are now free like they should have been and have been in Steam".  Maybe if they don't act embarrassed for associating with PC, then it would be a different story.  They can start by ending this whole deal with saying a game is Xbox exclusive, then later on announcing it for PC.  Just announce it for both and don't kick your PC audience in the ball, MS.

Everyone already recognized that Steam is the preeminent PC software platform to use, and as mentioned above, even EA (:bow2) recognizes this.

Microsoft is pretty much the only company that hasn't acknowledged Steam. There's no reason for them not to have Halo 1/2 or Gears of War on there, or even Age of Empires, other than they're too busy sticking their heads up their own butts.
Title: Re: Video Streaming not being implimented in "Home"
Post by: Mrbob on September 18, 2008, 08:52:15 PM
Fuck MS.

I await their future implosion when less than 10 percent of the X360 userbase buys an X720; Steam continues to pummel them into the ground on the PC while future windows upgrades continue to be ignored and Halo continues its path to irrelevance!

:bow Valve :bow2

:bow Steam :bow2

 :piss Microsoft :piss2
