I'm hoping they get more then just the 20 (11 revealed) characters the selection screen shows. But honestly, a KOF that's as good as XI, looking as good as this does, and with a robust feature-set for the home version (practically a given as how the last KOF did), I'd have to be nuts to complain about anything at all.

2009 GOTY folks. I'm calling it.

XI is old hat. '98 UM is the new hotness and OWNER of the rest, and thankfully XII is played in the classic style. Ryo also got his old-style stance back too. No more hands out.

2009 GOTY though? Imma hafta say "I dunno," which would be a :o to anyone who knows me. But that's only because the full game may not be released this year. ;)

SF4 is great, it really is. Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom looks to be fun as hell. But KOF XII just destroys them. It is truly an amazing thing seeing so many positive impressions for an SNK game and so many condemning comments to a Capcom game from western players after all these years. SNK used to get the biggest amount of hate from SF2-brainwashed players.

The irony is great. SNK has always been behind the curve in technology (at least since the first Clinton administration), and now they've got the best looking fighter coming out next year and all they did was pretty much the same thing they've always done.

And from the poster art it would appear that:

-Iori
-Big Bear

Are in the game.

A while ago Andy was supposed to be confirmed too.

So that still leaves six spaces. Hopefully at least two of those (three-four would be nice) are new characters. I hope Mai is in the game, would like Yuri but if she's not in it's okay. With the roster shown now, I'll be fine since I like to use just about everyone shown. Anyone have any characters they want to see in?

Yeah, you'd think that, but Mai was not in KOF XI.

(She and several other missing staple KOF characters were added into the home version of XI on PS2; all SNK did was take some NeoGeo Battle Coliseum characters and just insert them into the game. But this thread is about the arcade version.)

SNK has been removing some staple KOF characters for the past few years now, to make their other fighters' line-ups a little more diverse. Mai wasn't in XI, but she was in NGBC and Maximum Impact 2/Regulation A.

Yeah I'm not the biggest Big Bear fan myself. I'd rather have The Griffon/Tizoc. But they could change him up; he hasn't been in an *SNK* fighter for like nine years now. Don't go by what Capcom did with him in CvS.

Naw, it's hard to tell in that picture but it's Kim, Robert, and Benimaru.

I don't suspect Yamazaki will be in. But speaking of Fatal Fury characters, I hope Joe comes back too.

But don't forget that on top of this game, KOF 2002 Unlimited Match is coming out, and KOF Maximum Impact Regulation A2 (talk about a mouthful!) was announced a while ago and has yet to be unveiled.

I can't pimp Regulation A enough; it's super-awesome and refines the already much-better-than-the-broken-original MI2. It's too bad it never got a U.S. release.
