Title: do i need to have played persona 1/2/3 to like 4?

i'm thinking of preordering 4 and i wonder if i need to play 3 to understand the storyline or gameplay.

it looks like you revisit persona 3 areas in 4 but Im sure its not that big of a deal if you missed out

No need to play previous games to enjoy it.  It is kind of like every other RPG series where they only share the name.

Well if you plan on playing Persona 2, wait until the fan translation of Innocent Sin is out, it is CONNECTED to the version that came out in America - Eternal Punishment

No. As said above, the only Persona's even connected are Persona 2 Innocent Sin and Eternal Punishment.

Either way, P3 and P4 are so different from P1 and 2 that it wouldn't even matter.
