Tales of Vesperia.
Why won't it just end already?
-
Crysis Warhead, then going back to Tales of Vesperia. I tried to find out how to fix my freezing problem in Crysis Warhead eventually realizing my graphics card would just get really hot. The time in which it took to realize that had me watching The Holiday and Newsies.

Shit is hard.

Civ IV
Spore
Too Human
Ok, what the fuck is up with the win percentage preview that displays before you attack an enemy unit? I have yet to find it accurate. Last night I attacked archers with a fucking elephant and I had 95% chance to win. What happens? I kill 2/3 without losing a single elephant, only to have the remaining fucker last stand me and knock both elephants over. RRRAAAAAGGGGGEEEEE :maf
-
Still Wild Arms 3, taking down some of the optional bosses. Near the end but still have a lot of optional stuff to do.
Started playing some DQ4 DS, just beat Ragnar's chapter and I'll be playing a lot more on the train tomorrow.
Then comes either Infinite Undiscovery or Panzer Dragoon Saga.
-
trying to get better at contra 4. i can get to the end of stage 2/beginning of stage 3 on hard, so i'm still fucking up a lot

It was my first WRPG. The art is terrible, I'll admit, but it grew on me. It is one of those games that you can put down and come back after weeks or month, since it has a pretty detailed journal/quest system. They are 5 major quest lines: Main quest, and the guilds-Mages, Fighters, Thieves, Assassins (Dark Brotherhood). The main quest is the weakest ironically. The Dark Brotherhood quest is a must play, however.
Most of your time would be getting used to the Oblivion gameplay systems-stealth, magic, and combat. All combat and spell casting is realtime and they are no random battles at all. Armor and weapons are breakable with constant use and you must watch your inventory as having to many items slows you down and can also over-encumber, meaning you won't be able move. Selling and storing items is a must.
Throughout the game you can engage in conversation with NPC for informations and accept minor quest. The game has a "likable" meter or sorts when interacting with NPCs. The more they like the more information they provide.
The leveling/skills/class systems are pretty complex as well and I would recommend reading the manual or going to the Oblivion wiki for that.
I've found it is either a love or hate game for those reared on JRPG conventions.

X-COM at work, hockey later.

I also bought Stubbs the Zombie for $5 off of Steam.
-
Stubbs is a really fun game. I might pick it up for $5 on steam to play through it again (I say this for every game I buy on Steam, but I never get around to it.)

Did you get to Hel yet?
anyways
im playing RB2 and Sega Superstar Tennis

Burnout bikes are awesome. I went back to cars after playing with bikes for half an hour or so and I felt like I was crawling. Also, integrated custom sound tracks are awesome. While I really like the custom soundtracks are in every 360 game, I still think having custom soundtracks built into the game itself are way better. Being able to press R1 to change songs is much better than keeping my 360 remote next to me as I play. The jump from PGR2s awesome custom soundtrack options to PGR3 was rough.

DoD:S & Dawn Of War: Dark Crusade

Rock Band 2 mother fuckers.
Plus Burnout with Bikes

im playing RB2 and Sega Superstar Tennis
I just started it. Every single level is the same exact thing. Every room has the same 3 enemy types where I do the same combos and the same crap.
The Ice forest was UNBELIEVABLEEEEEEEEEEEEE holy FUCKKK
is hel worse than that?
-
Ice Forest is the worst level by far, imo. I thought that Hel was pretty good, and it has good loot drops
-
i want to start in on ac4answer, but first i need to finish ng2 mission mode on warrior, and the second 'kill 100 fiends' mission is a pain in the ass. i've died at the last group of enemies three or four times

Burnout bikes got me in the mood for racing games so I played a bit of PGR4. I forgot how amazing Bizarre is. Such satisfying driving and the perfect camera choices.
If they make a free roaming game with this driving and shooting from The Club, it will be so good.
-
The waiting game.
Jasper 360, coming soon to a Best Buy near you.
-
Started up some Rockband 2 as well.
-
Crysis Warhead, Rock Band 2, Geometry Wars 2 so far this weekend...
I played Braid for about ten minutes :-X
-
finally beat that mission the cheesy way: nothing but scythe air combos. it's not just that the move is overpowered, it's that the ai has no fucking idea what to do with a jumping opponent -- there are lots of otherwise strong enemies who simply can't hit you if you're in the air. gj team ninja
-
Play stupid AC!
-
If you want to know about AC, just download the Jap demo.
-
i think i'd better, if only to avoid playing any more ng2. i'll probably write up some impressions tonight

Ice Forest is the worst level by far, imo. I thought that Hel was pretty good, and it has good loot drops
I just think this game is really outright terrible 60-70% of the time and passable the rest. Too Human shows they've learned basically nothing from Eternal Darkness, especially in how to pace or structure a level. Fatigue sets in with Too Human's levels incredibly quickly and the Ice Forest especially goes on for what seems like two and a half to three hours.
I give Too Human props for one thing and so far one thing only-- they did a very nice job recreating the Norse stuff with the cybernetic theme. They haven't at all delivered on their promises of "fart jokes for the masses, Shakespeare for the elites," but the scenario and world conceptualization has been impressive and consistent. The writing maybe not so much.
I just don't understand this game and I love games like this. The combat is just completely unsatisfying and there are no more than three enemy types. I really am in complete disbelief that this game took so long to make.
The loot might as well all be named by some random word generator and I think most of it is ugly. I really just don't think they got anything totally right, but I haven't tried online coop.
It's completely missing the primary drive for loot whores in that there is no online arena to show it off, trade, and oogle other people. It just fails on a very fundamental level.

diablo right now
:bow diablo :bow2
i'd forgotten how good this game is
circuit city had the battle chest on sale a few weeks ago for $25, didn't get around to installing it until now
downloaded a no cd crack so i can slap it on the laptop later
for an eleven year old game, i'm surprised at how good it still looks, and how well it scales to my widescreen

I felt it was. 1.Longer 2.More spawns/mobs. 3.floating fat dude spawns were annoying. 4.Terrible pathfinding. 5.Awfull last boss where i died 37 times.
But Ice Forest is maybe the most unbalanced level, with the Spider mobs. Encounters with multiple trolls, goblins and spiders.
The game is just so utterly bad. And its not bad "technically" its well programed, looks decent at times. Its just not a fun game. And part of that responsability i place on Dennis. Many of the decicions in the game. The Valkarye unskipable death sequence for instance i bet are stuff Dennis probably came up in conceptualizeing and decided hey this would look cool in my magnus opus so lets do it. It feels like nobody sat down and really played this.

How are you finding Crysis, Hitler? You played lots of FPSes how does it compare?
I just finished Onslaught last night and so far it's pretty damn sweet. The AI is a little goofy at times but I love the sandbox nature of the island and (of course) it looks freakin' insane. I've read numerous people going on and on about it but I've always been somewhat skeptical about the whole thing because I really disliked Far Cry but it seems like everyone was right about it. Crysis is a major step up from FC, imo. Fun stuff.
I also picked up a 26" Samsung computer monitor yesterday and I gotta say that my enjoyment level of Crysis went up several hundered notches just by playing it on this monster. Hell, this thing makes everything seem better. :D
-
Ferrari Challenge: Trofeo Pirelli for the PS3 is fucking awesome. All of the reviewers who trashed it can suck my cock. :-*
-
Mercs 2. I never got around to playing the first one. This game is highly addictive despite its technical shortcomings. After a few hours I just turned off the voice channel completely. It plays like the best bits of GTA minus the annoying wanted level. Also the game is pretty forgiving when it comes to health, so when you do actually die, you probably deserve it. There also seem to be numerous ways to complete missions. Like attaching C4 to vehicles and then driving/flying them into targets. There also doesn't seem to be unlock-the-fun-itis. You get a pretty sick arsenal to begin with, at least if you are resourceful enough.
-
Megaman 1, playing through the series before I get 9 tomorrow.
-
MM9 is out tomorrow? wow
-
Peggle Nights - The characters are cute and the aesthetic of the game is pretty crazy in a charming way. Nothing beats the feeling of clearing a level and hearing Ode To Joy while fireworks explode just doesn't get old.
Prince of Persia: Sands of Time - I'm finally getting around to playing this. The character models are pretty awful but the platforming still holds up, some of the jumps are hue and the fluidity of the movements is pretty impressive. Combat is clunk and button-mashy though.
Silent Hill Origins: This looks awesome on PSP, story isn't too good so far though.
-
zomg I am so addicted to Saint's Row
even though Ive finished the main storyline theres still tons to do and heaps of achievements to go for
anyone want to play some online
-
Castle Crashers

team fortress 2 - still the king :bow
and I rented mercs 2, that should be fun
maybe some more vesperia too

Oh man you bought the wrong Divinity game Great Rumbler :'( It is total SHIT next to the original DivDiv.
Dude, I got both. I'm sticking with Beyond for now because it starts faster and plays smoother. I kept getting killed by random guys in Divine. :'(
I'll come back to Divine eventually, though, as it seems like the one that will be better for the long haul. Beyond's more of a dungeon crawler like Diablo, though nowhere near as good, while Divine is more quest-driver like Baldur's Gate.
And I borrowed Beyond, so no actual money spent on that one.

Wii Sports :'(

Over the weekend I got through 3 missions in GTA4 that were holding me back. Played some COD4 with a friend through the campaign. I bought it around march and barely touched it. Now I'm kind of hooked. ??? What took so long?
And of course Civ4 and Madden 09. :rockon
