:gun Time Warner Cable.
While they've added a considerable number of HD channels in the past few months, they keep skipping the one channel I want... USA HD. Oh, they teased. During the Olympics, they temporarily added USA HD all the way up at channel 1501. I was spoiled for a couple of weeks. As soon as the Olympics were over, the channel went bye bye.
If they had the capacity to run USA HD during the olympics (plus three other temporary HD channels), why do they not have the capacity to carry it now?
Just a couple of weeks ago, they added ESPNU to the HD tier. Good. And they added the Green network. Guh. A few weeks before that, they added ESPNEWS. Good. And ABC Family and Disney. Guh. They added a handful of channels a couple of months ago, too, although I can't tell you what they were. I think one is Animal Planet. Discovery something, too.
Now I find out that they're added the Big Ten network to regular and HD cable on Thursday.
ATTN: Time Warner Cable. This is Greensboro, North Carolina. We don't care about the stupid Big Ten and we don't care about watching their awful football teams. We already have our own awful ACC football teams to watch. If you're going to add another sports network, give me Fox Sports HD or the NFL Network.
And bring back USA HD, distinguished mentally-challenged fellows.

I get FiOS TV this Friday
:bow FiOS :bow2

And can I at least get the Weather Channel in HD. I want to see the consequences of global warming in stunning high definition.
-
ABC Family HD and Disney HD are a complete waste. There is never anything in HD on either channel.
Comcast sucks, we haven't got a new HD channel since late May.
-
I know get Universal HD since the Olympics!
-
:bow DirecT--oh wait
:piss DirecTV :piss2
-
I just buy tv on dvd or on itunes/zunestore, fuk cable

Yeah, I've had FiOS internet and phone since like March-April 07. TV has been available for like a month or two now.

I've heard some good stuff about FiOS, good to see a young blood like yourself is making it. Holler back. :pimp

Be glad you don't live in Charlotte. ESPNews is my favorite channel, but we don't have that in HD. Nor do we have any of the others you listed that were added.
I totally agree with you about USA HD, the fact that they added that for the Olympics only to yank it away drove me insane.
Oh, and big LOL @ the fact that this is now year 3 without NFL Network (HD or SD.)
Fuck TWC, I'm so glad that the Bobcats are finally on SportsSouth instead of various cable-only channels. I am switching to DirecTv as soon as I move into my gf's house. And TWC will lose two customers that day.

My cable pretty much comes with my internet package, and I STILL just buy tv on dvd or watch online.

Satellite owns

Satellite owns
Yes, it does, especially now that their HD is coming around.
The problem here in Charlotte was slightly unique for sports fans. Cable doesn't carry NFL Network, which means some NFL games aren't carried (any local games would still be carried.) But the Bobcats for their whole existence has been on cable-specific channels. So either you have satellite for NFL or cable for the local NBA games. I have to believe that has hurt the Bobcats in developing a local fanbase, because the average sports fan in 2000 has chosen the NFL resoundly over the NBA.
And a die-hard like me is stuck with cable because I can't justify losing 60+ NBA games for a handful of NFL games not involving the local Panthers. Luckily that's all changing this year.

I agree with the OP. THe NBC "HD" channel is awful to watch here in NY. If anything moves to fast the picture gets all artifacty.
-
Time Warner is fucking HORRIBLE
In London, Kentucky, you get Fox and CBS HD, but you don't fucking get ABC or NBC in HD. Not only that, but they did the same thing with USA and Universal that the OP is complaining about.
This is the current selection for London:
Fox
CBS
ESPN
ESPN 2
Discovery Channel HD
TNT HD
PBS HD (from 8-10)
THAT'S IT.

Do you have the 8300 Scientific Atlanta HD box? You should enable it to output every resolution, it defaults to output everything in 1080i.
The reason I ask is that NBC is a 720p station, if your box is upscaling to 1080i and you have a plasma that is scaling that image again, that could be a reason that specific channel looks like crap.
