Every time i try to install them the install stops halfway and the DVD drive makes bizzare noises like its spinnin but not getting anything. I've swapped a few spare drives in and out and I cant get Crysis Warhead to finish an install and warhammer online wasnt doing so hot either. Ive since swapped in the first drive and started installing games like CRYSIS and WITCHER and other games that work :/
I know there's a DRM, but I had only completely installed it once.
-
the drm on spore was really, really awful, as i recall
-
didn't you mention that yer dvd drive was running slow? if it's IDE, make sure it's set to the setting that isn't master or slave, but like "cable select" or whatever
-
yeah, crysis warhead one is bad too. like 3-5 installs, wtf
it wasnt running slow, when I told you that I was first trying to install crysis so I assumed it was running slow when in fact it couldnt get anything at all! Other games install fine.
-
First install of Warhead went bad, second was fine.
-
warhammer failed the first two installs for me, and I *still* hafta start it by going to the install point and launching the patcher
lol ea
-
EAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Speaking of Crysis, I'm debating on whether or not I want to bite on Steam. I don't really feel like paying 40 bucks for a PC game yet, but I'd be okay for paying 20 for Warhead. Do I need to play the first game to enjoy the second?
-
is warhead on steam? fuck ea drm if that's the case
-

Warhead is just a side-story, not a sequel. An expansion pack, like Blue Shift was to Half Life.
-
Warhead also has DRM on steam I heard, wtf is the point of that.

I don't really care about story, I just want to experience Crysis. I think I'm gonna just go ahead and get Warhead.

hahaha wtf
well, at least there's no disc check
-
It's more action focused than Crysis, so it's probably better than Crysis. I can't play through Crysis for long periods, it's really boring and awful.
-
Sounds good. I'll report back after I get it.
-
I bought Warhead on Steam and haven't had any draconian DRM related headaches with it yet.
-
with all these drm schemes, trying to game on pc nowadays is like a game in itself
just wait for it to be cracked and torrent it, fuck em, you actually bought the game

You get like 5 installs I heard
-
i installed a nocd crack in diablo even though i bought it, now i can play it on my laptop without worrying about a disc spinning in the drive
god bless piracy
-
DRM shit for games is crazy, why punish the honest people. Do they think we'll get so mad we'll stop the pirates for them?
-
most people will embrace them instead
"thanks for the crack that let me install my legally purchased copy of this game, pirate dudes"

i do this for all games i install on my laptops
do i really wanna pack ten zillion discs around with me
-
Even on my desktop PC, I crack all my games. I don't want to have to dig out CDs every time I want to play a different game.
-
83% for Warhead right now on Steam. Can't wait.
-
Crysis is dead fucking sexy on my new rig. OMG
-
What settings do you use, Maf? I use max settings at 1920x1200 which looks spectacular but there are some hitches here and there. I wish the engine was better programmed for multi-GPUs. SLI only adds about 50% more performance in Crysis.
-
I just do high everything, forget if I had AA on. I need to install the ati control panel so I can force v-sync in the game tho. Lack of v-sync bothers the hell outta me.

You can force Vsync in game once you've applied the latest patch.
-
ok I havent played it since I put the patch on this morning, good to know!
-
All minimal here :'(

All minimal here :'(
wow... thats like, not even worth admission to Crysis
-
I just did that at first to test things out. I'ma try mainstream and gamer next.
-
Warhead performs better than the OG Crysis, though its performance still isn't that great.
I was just playing Spore. I am loving that game. Here is the near final evolution of my Arviepod:
I am still playing with colors. I am kind of attached to purple to match Arvie's love of garishness, but it's not quite working out. Motherfucker is an insane killing machine, which is why he looks so weird. And yes he has a cock that spits poison. The original Arviepod had 2 buttholes that shot poison.
-
I fucking love Spore. Haven't played it since last weekend but I was really really enjoying it.
-
Crysis runs pretty cool on my pc omggggggggggggg
-
laptops :(
-
I had no problems installing Warhead but I bought it through Steam.
-
I only need a few more parts in Spore and I have everything for Carnivores.
