Home is a waste of time, money and manpower.

Go play Wipeout HD and Little Big Planet instead.

Is there some way to hide my personal info if I share it with you?  I'll probably be getting Wipeout some time in the next two weeks.  I'm just too lazy now to go through the ordering process.

Just put in a good word with Wollan for me.  Tell him I'll switch camps if he sends me 3 games.  I could be a very useful ally.   ;)

When you go into account management, there is a "remove billing information" button on the bottom left corner. That wipes everything.

That picture still gets me.  At least one part of it is right.

And I want in the KZ2 beta, or the R2 beta...Home I would accept.

What pisses me off is that my friend has a KZ2 beta code but intends to trade it off to some sap for a PSN game or something.  I deserve it more.

I really want into the KZ2 beta, for the simple reason that I want to find out if I can be legitimately excited about the game or not. It has appeared good as of late, and it seems to be doing just about everything right in terms of MP, but the legacy damns it. Resistance 2 beta would be nice, but that game is all but guaranteed to be good. And considering that Sony seems dead set on making sure that beta participants get the true beta experience as opposed to the advance demo experience that seems so popular these days, I might as well just wait until it's final and in good working order.

Home, though? Waste of time.

I'll be getting Wipeout next Friday, so if you guys still need it then, let me know. I'll be needing some pointers on how to set up game sharing though.

It's easy to do, but it is a little annoying. Basically, you have to remove all your information from your account unless you trust the person. Change the password to your account and then exchange info. Then you create a new user on the PS3, hit recover account on the PS3, enter the info, and download. You can go back to your main account on the PS3 and use the software, but you must keep the other user account. So I have like my main account, then euro, japan, and an account for sharing...I need to make another if I were to share another person. But yeah...if anyone wants to, let me know.

we have honor among thieves i guess!

A number of people on gaf must be getting paid -- that or all their parents visited a butter factory when they were younger.

That Andrex (he lists Nintendo as an interest) kid bugs the shit out of me. He runs into every single thread and whines about how it would work perfectly on the Wii. I posted the Gundam 00 PS2 game cover art in the Japanese cover art thread, and he goes off on how it's not coming out for the Wii.

Title: Re: Kev Does Home
Post by: cool breeze on October 03, 2008, 11:53:54 PM
I didn't get into Killzone 2, nor did I get into the private Resistance 2 beta, nor did I get into the first wave of Home beta.  Actually, the only ones I get into are the ones with pre-order codes or really open public ones, but that is the case with beta on other systems as well (Red Faction on 360 and Battlefield Heroes on PC).

So far (I don't think I'm even supposed to talk about this shit...is it NDA? whatever) it's shit.  The character customization is straight out of Fight Night, except worse.  The hair styles are distinguished mentally-challenged and my guy looks like a douche.  I had to wait 3 minutes to download the next area I walked to.  I don't even know what to do here.

and you can't even do in-game xmb while playing. lol.

Wow, is this a joke? I had to run across this big ass empty area to get to the mall, and now I need to download that.

Title: Re: Kev Does Home
Post by: cool breeze on October 03, 2008, 11:58:48 PM
There were like 4 or 5 other people who I assume were also new to the world.

The mall is actually pretty packed.  More people here than in the Wii verison of Dead Rising.
Title: Re: Kev Does Home
Post by: cool breeze on October 04, 2008, 12:34:14 AM
So, the beta doesn't have any of the uncharted rooms or thins like that.  All the arcade games pretty much suck (one is a clone of Flip It for the Jaguar), the parlor games are boring, and I can't see what is the point of this.  The most entertaining aspect of this for me has been going up to guys dressed as thugs and hitting them with the twist, then following them until they eventually leave.  I don't see why anyone would want this.

Post by: cool breeze on October 04, 2008, 01:12:01 AM
I have seen exactly two women so far, but they could have just been guys dressed as women, so that can't be the reason.

And the only fun thing to do in this game is grief others, and by fun, I mean it helps distract you from the actual boredom that comes with home.  I played some chess match against this guy who bailed as I had him in check, so I chased him down.  THIS IS SO USELESS.

Are you in the beta? I want someone on my friends list to be in the beta so I can try out the game creation thing before never touching it again.  I stood around the lobby asking with a Wipeout HD room open and apparently that wasn't enticing enough to get people stop experiencing home.

I wasn't really looking.  It loaded, then I hit X and said I understand this icon meant it was saving, then I accepted the rules of whatever, then I got in and made my character.

Try re-downloading it or something.

And apparently I got this beta for downloading the home theme from a while back.
