LAPTOP
My HP tx1000 has been the best laptop ive ever owned. Sure it only plays up to NOLF2, but who gives a shit
Actually, he's been bugging me about getting a GF recently. I dunno why. Maybe my parents are worried that I might turn gay or something. :lol
If you have a great desktop then a gaming laptop is about as useful as ass warts. I might sorta understand it if you have a game that you really REEAAALLY would want to play while not at home though but the battery length should be your main priority.

People that want to play stuff that isn't four-five years old?
I love my MacBook; it's worked out for me far better than the $3,200 "gaming class" Alienware laptop I got before it. The one thing it can't do (although like MAF's laptop it can run the older stuff) is games, but that's fine. I have plenty of games on my consoles. If I get back to PC gaming, I'd get a desktop. These gaming laptops get outdated WAY too quickly from my experience with one.
Price issues aside, I'd like to never recommend Alienware to anyone. The laptop I got was supposed to be upgradeable. Then they brought out a new model and quit producing the new graphics cards for the older one, less than a year after I got it. Fucktards.
How about you buy a DESKTOP you dumbshit
In my case I got a gaming laptop because I needed to have a laptop as my main computer. If it wasn't for that I wouldn't have bothered.

Maybe you just got a lemon? Also, it's kinda unrealistic to expect major upgrades for a notebook.
I like the stuff that Alienware makes. Alienware products look nice and are high performing, unlike most pre-built PCs. Their desktops are water cooled and they are one of the few manufacturers that make SLI notebooks. I like building my own computers but I would definitely buy their stuff if I had the money.
DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT DO NONT DNONT DNOT ONOT EVER BUY HIGH END GAMING LAPTOPS only buy great price/performance ratio laptops
TOday's best laptop that fits such a criteria is Gateway P-7811 FX. THe Gateway FX series has been blowing away laptop gamer's minds since they first introduced the 6831 and later the 6860. This one is the newest, and it takes the cake, but be warned: it's $1400. Still, great deal for what you get:

Do you seriously do this? Holy shit! I would just bring my PSP and sometimes a slim PS2 or PS3.
Its easier to visit parents with a portable cause you arent hidden behind some huge gaming laptop taking criticism for bringing "that stupid thing along"
