Title: Anyone ever do the master cleanse?
Post by: Beardo on October 03, 2008, 12:15:12 PM
The Master Cleanse
Squezed Lemons
Grade B Maple syrup
Cayenne pepper
Distilled Water
At night you drink sea salt and water to make yourself crap.

No solid food is eaten for the entire cleanse.

I have been doing the master cleanse for a few days now and its not that bad. The worst part is being around other people eating. Other than that the actual drink isnt that bad. It tastes like lemonade with a hot after taste. The worst part is drinking the sea salt. It's so gross.

Never had the balls to try it. So, are you feeling any results yet? Or is this merely preventative maintenance?

I havent felt anything really. But Im not really doing it for the detox. I'm doing it as more of a way to transition into a better lifestyle and maybe shed a few pounds. I have realized what a slave to food I was though. When I see other people eating I get strong urges to break down and eat, but I just need to tell myself that my stomach doesn't control me.

Like I said though, Im not as hungry as I thought I would be. You know when you wake up and you havent eaten since dinner the night before. Thats how I feel all the time.

Interesting. I've packed on a ton of weight in the part of the year that I usually lose it, so I've been debating on a few different methods to try. Keep us posted how it works out, if you don't mind.

I will. One thing to note. Grade B maple syrup is expensive and you need alot of it.

Oh and I think im only gonna do this for 10 days, which is the minimum.

you can get Grade B syrup cheaply at Trader Joe's, if you have one nearby

Drink cups of metamucil mixed with prune juice several times a day and you won't be so hungry.  Plus you'll crap a lot more often.  It's probably healthier than your formula.

I live in the woods, so maple syrup won't be an issue.  :lol

What comes out after a few days of no solid food and lemonade?

I've seen many people start this, but never complete it.

Good way to make your body knaw away at not only the fat stores in your body (which is a good thing) but to also chip away at your muscles. A day or two on this should be cool... I wouldn't go beyond that.

Mexican doesn't really make me go, but if I eat Korean (especially kimchi and dak bulgogi)... every single time, without fail.

Aren't you supposed to work in some enema's too?

Howard Stern's sidekick (Robin Quivers) did it for like a month or two. She lost 30 pounds, but put it all back on (and then some) once she went back to "normal food".

Your also denying your body certain nutrients which is easy street for the Flu and other shit. Your barriers will be down, in a sense.

That's what I usually do. I just keep my daily fat intake down really low, combined with my workouts and the weight falls off. This was intriguing, although given some of the other posts and stuff I've read, I'm having second thoughts.
